AURORA’S POV “Aurora! How do you feel?” That was the hundredth time Kasper had asked this same question. His voice was careful, filled with fear. But I couldn’t bring myself to say anything. I wanted to talk to him, to ease his worry, but the pain held my voice in. Each contraction came like a rushed wave, snapping each ounce of strength in me. Tears rolled down my cheeks in heavy droplets. “I feel pain,” I croaked, the words were pushed through gritted teeth. My hand tighter on the bed sheet as another sharp cramp coursed through me. My legs shuddered. My breath came in ragged, hollow gasps. It was too much to bear. “I’m sorry! Sorry!” Kasper’s voice broke with helplessness. He placed a comforting hand on my lower back, with a gentle massage, but it did nothing to ease the pains. Alm
