Oh my goodness, the website didn’t depict the amount of majestic beauty this island holds. Nothing could unless seeing it in real life. Lush green mountainsides, beautiful rock formations, colorful plants, trees, and wildlife all around. I looked at everyone else aboard the boat and they were just as awestruck as I was.
As soon as we got off the boat, we were greeted by people on both sides of the pier, who almost glowed as the sun's rays hit them. I don’t know what species they were, nor do I care, they had a beauty to them that words cannot even describe.
“Hello, welcome to Wakwanu.” one woman said, as she brought over a brightly colored flower, leaf, and feather crown, placing it on top of my head. She then adorned me with a seashell necklace made with real shells.
