Yesterday, Makai had been acting weird all day. He couldn’t tell me what was wrong, just that he sensed danger. He was on constant high alert. He finally told me he could hear something in the distance, a low hum, but he was unsure of what it was.
I was finally able to get some sleep shortly before waking up to the loud thunder-like sound of the earth, and then the ground started shaking. I grabbed Angie and Tasha, put them under a table in our room, and used my body to help shield them.
Not long after the earthquake stopped, Kyle and Kaya rushed over to our bungalow, telling us that the water had disappeared from outside of their hut. An obvious sign of what was to come. We turned to rush over to get Hunter and Ari, but by then, it was too late.
