"Hey cut it out" her shy voice ripped through the air.
I turned my head to see two bigger boys picking on such a small girl.
"Please just leave me alone" she continued.
My blood instantly started to boil. I felt myself grab something. I don't know what but I started to walk towards them.
"Hey dipshits leave her alone" I swung what I had in my hand and hit one.
"You're bleeding" the second said.
" You s**t" the one I hit said lunging for me.
I easily dodged out of the way bring my knee up to his nose.
"You wanna go" I asked the second.
I could see him shaking and he dropped her to the ground. He picked his friend up and they ran away. I helped my little bird up. From that moment on I knew my fate was chained to hers.
"You didn't have to that" she says.
Her voice was still low but enough I could hear it.
"Well I couldn't do nothing" I said smiling.
"Thanks but I'll be fine for now on" she says leaving me.
My little bird had no idea what I was going to do for. What I was willing to do for her from that day on. My beautiful little bird we will meet again. I got lost in thought.
"Asher, Asher" my sister called to me.
" Maybell what" I hissed at her.
"When are we leaving for school"
"Go yourself here's the keys" I say sliding them over to her.
"Are you taking your bike then"
"Just go Maybell" I added some force to my voice and she left.
My sweet little bird where oh where are you? All I want is to see you. Hold you again. My fate is chained to you. I've been waiting for the day you appear again. I wonder if I've scared you off my little bird. We were only 6 when I first spotted you and learned how deeply I could care for you.
Ten years ago and the thought of you still burns deeply in my brain. I grabbed my helmet and keys. Leaving for school. The ride to school had me more lost then me searching for you. My thoughts never cleared. It was like she was the only one I could ever need. I pulled up to the school and parked my bike.
"Hey Asher" I stayed on my bike.
"What do you want" I say turning my head.
"Boo Asher why do you have to be like this" she pouted.
"I've tried to make it obvious enough that I'm not interested. Just because I have filled out and look cute or whatever else doesn't mean I f*****g want you Marie" Spewing hateful venom towards her as I took off my helmet.
"But Asher we were made for each other" she says throwing her hair over her shoulder.
The head cheerleader and crazier b***h I've ever met. I would not betray my little bird. I will find you.
"Look you self absorbed prissy b***h leave me alone" I say grabbing my bag and jacket before walking off.
"Asher darling" she says stepping in front of me again.
"Hey dumbass" Maybell says punching her in the face" Leave my brother alone already " as a teacher comes running over.
"What happened" the teacher asked.
"She punched me" Marie shouted as blood soaked her cheer uniform.
"She pushed me out of the way onto ground while I was talking to Asher. So as I was getting back up she pushed me again and I hit her"Maybell explained.
"Asher is that what happened" the teacher asked me.
"Yes"
Good thing the school had no cameras outside. just the inside.
"Let's go Marie" the teacher as guiding her away.
"You're lucky no one else saw that" I smirked leaning against the wall.
"Oh my what ever will I do" she says sarcastically.
"Get your ass to class" I say walking in after her.
"Asher don't skip today. I have feeling today is going to be a good day" she says running off to her group of friends.
Was she right was today going to be a good day? Maybe but I would just have to see. I wonder if I would ever find my little bird again. I went to my locker putting my jacket and helmet away. I can't believe it's been ten years since I've seen her. Would she even recognize me at this point? I tried to clear my head as I walked to class. I found my usual seat and waited for class to start.
"Ok before we begin class there's a new student joining us today" Mr. Brookes says.
My attention snapped forward to see this very shy girl standing there. Very pretty girl.
"Hi" she says.
"Tell us you name"
"I'm Mareena" she says.
"There's an open seat next Asher" He says pointing to desk beside me.
Maybell was right today is a good day because I've waited for my little bird to return and she has.
"Asher right" She says setting down her books as sat.
"Last time I checked" my heart fluttered talking to her.
She let out a giggle. Damn this girl knew how to just make my world stop.
"Where are you from" I asked.
"Two towns over" She sorta stiffened up.
I got the feeling something bad happened to her and I wanted the world to pay.
"Why'd you move here"
She stiffened again and just looked away.
"Let's get started class" Mr. Brookes says.
For the rest of class she sat there looking like she didn't know what to do. She never raised her hand but she sat quietly trying to ignore me.
The bell rang and she was gone. I finally got to see my little bird again and she was gone. Was I being to much for her? I finally learned her name and she's gone. Damn it I thought lightly pounding my fist off of my locker. f**k this I'm leaving. I opened my locker grabbing my stuff and headed to my bike. I stopped when I noticed she was staring at it.
"Do you need something little bird" I asked.
"Little bird" she smirked" Do I look fragile to you"
" Not at all" I answered getting onto my bike.
"Do you have an extra" she asked.
"No but you can wear mine if you want" I said offering her my helmet.
Her eyes lit up.
"Really"
"Yes"
I helped her put the helmet on. Just as she was about to get on the back when Marie came running at me.
"Who is this" Marie shouts.
"I'll be your worse nightmare b***h if you don't leave" I was a lose for words.
Her shy demeanor was gone.
"Asher don't do this" she pouted at me.
"He doesn't need to answer to you" Mareena said getting onto my bike.
I took off before Marie could say anything else. I felt her press against my back and my heart felt happy. She really had changed. My little bird. Compared to me that's what she was.
