Chapter 9The sound seemed louder to Josh’s left so he took a long step to the right. The moment his right foot hit the forest floor, his ankle gave way and he was back on the ground, wincing. That was it. He was done for. Whatever was out there was going to get him. He steeled himself against the pain, unwilling to give up just yet. Fear of the unknown drove him as much as the desire to survive.
