“Elaine’s dead. The pack is doomed.”
“What happened? How?”
Andrea was unsettled enough by the news that Josh managed to push her aside. He almost felt bad for running out on her, but their deal was meaningless now that Elaine was dead and Bryce would assume leadership of the pack. Andrea grappled with Josh as he opened the door.
“We can deal with this,” she said. “It’s not the end of the world, yet.”
“I challenged Bryce for pack leadership.”
Andrea’s hands fell away as a look of disbelief crossed her face. She knew as well as Josh that he’d signed his own death warrant.
“Are you insane?”
Suddenly, Gavin was standing in front of Josh and blocking the doorway. “You just gave him an excuse to kill you, and for what?”
