Josh didn’t expect sentimentality from Elaine, but he hadn’t counted on her matter-of-fact attitude toward her brother’s death. He could still smell the scent of pine and musk that was uniquely Silverbane’s scent, and his nose wasn’t nearly as sensitive as half the members of the pack, let alone Elaine. How long would that scent take to fade? How long would the pack survive without Silverbane?
