Chapter Ten Ian returns

1325 Words
Ian’s POV Ivan hasn’t talked to me in months, every time I try to get his attention he retreats further. His anger is the only thing I feel from him. I’m currently sitting in a bar taking a break from my constant search. I’ve had a friend running facial recognition online since Cassie disappeared with my son. *Ring, ring, ring* The vibration of my phone against my thigh gets my attention and I pull it out not bothering to check the caller ID. “Yeah?” “I’ve got something, I’m sending it over now.” The person on the other end says. I pull my phone from my ear as it dings. A picture of Cassie pops up on my screen when I click the message. I hang up not caring about anything else. This is the break I’ve been waiting for. I hit the link he sent with it and am redirected to a school website. Her picture is posted under the staff as a guidance counselor. I open a new tab and type in the school name. She’s in Wyoming. Ivan steps out of the shadows having got the information he needs to get his pup back. I’m fighting him to stay in control. We’ll need a solid plan to get to her. I go to my contacts and call Isaiah, he hasn’t spoken to me since the day Cassie left, and now is no different. I’m sent to voicemail after just one ring. Guess I’m on my own. I pay my tab and leave the bar. The walk home is short, I’m there I’m no time. I had to get a job when Cassie left so I could keep the apartment. Recently I had enough to buy a cheap car. Turns out I’m definitely going to need it, maps show she’s 2500 miles away. I won’t be able to get there until Friday at the earliest. I grab some clothes and toss them in a duffel bag not caring about anything else and go back downstairs to my car. Better get this road trip started. When I get on the highway I call my buddy back, and he answers on the first ring. “Yo.” “Can you hack the school’s website and get me her address?” “Glad you asked, already done, sending now.” I end the call, at least he’s good for something. Her address floats across my screen and a smirk spreads across my face. I’m coming b***h. Cassie’s POV It’s been three months since Carter and I officially started dating. I’ve yet to let him mark me no matter how much he and Cain have tried. I’m choosing to get to know him better outside of being mates. I am not a wolf and I wasn’t raised believing my perfect someone would walk into my life and capture my heart forever. Regardless of that our bond has continued to get stronger. Every touch is intensified the longer we’re together making the tingles heightened and inducing pleasure even at subtle, modest brushes of contact. I’m constantly thinking about him and missing him whenever we’re apart. Over the last four months since I moved to town things have been great. I’m thriving in my position at the school having established meaningful connections with my students. I’ve built friendships within the pack Melody being my best friend though Amelia is a close second. The only thing that is weighing heavily on my mind is Carter’s constant persistence to get Alex and I to move into the pack house with him, especially with that she-wolf Ashley always rearing her ugly head. Not that she’s ugly in any way. It would be easier to ignore her if she was. She is painstakingly sexy and she knows it. Many of the warriors are often lusting after her. She looks like a Barbie doll with her perfect pouty lips and long slender legs, not to mention her perfectly straight blond hair. The way she dresses leaves little to the imagination and I hate that I worry Carter might entertain her wants. He hasn’t however, turning her down whenever she even glances his way. Never breaking my trust once. Because of this Alex and I stay at the pack house a couple of days a week and on the other days, Carter is at the cabin. Surprisingly Carter’s private quarters at the pack house are way more comfortable. It occupies the entire top floor of the mansion and he’s had one of the rooms filled with everything Spider-Man for Alex. The playroom he had installed is where Alex and Abby spend most of their time in the afternoon. Which leaves us plenty of time for adult activities. My cheeks heat just thinking about the things Carter does to my body and I feel moisture pool between my legs. I hear the first lunch bell ring breaking my naughty thoughts. Absentmindedly I gather my purse and phone peeking to see if I have a message from Carter but, no such luck, he’s been rather distant today. As I begin to make my way across the small office the door opens revealing a handsome Carter carrying a bag of what smells to be Chinese takeout and my mouth waters. Carter takes a deep breath and I’m instantly pinned between him and my desk the takeout left by the now closed door. My panties damper more as Carter slides his nose up the side of my neck his breath tickling my sensitive skin. “What has you so turned on Cassie?” He asks while his hand travels down landing between my knees. I shiver at the contact and he halts his upward momentum mid-thigh though my dress has already ridden higher. “Cassie?” Oh, right he asked me a question. “I was thinking about you Carter, remembering what you do to my body.” I bite my lip looking down to avoid his heated gaze. “So all this is for me?” His husky voice is right in my ear as his fingers make contact with my s*x. “Mmhmm.” *** I may have taken a longer than allotted lunch break today, Carter wouldn’t stop after just once and it turned into a whole love-making session right on my desk. Good thing there are no windows in my office and I had no appointments scheduled with my students. We made plans for Alex and I to spend the weekend at the pack house and Carter asked Melody to take Alex home with her so I could finish a school paper before heading over. Yes, a school paper. I’m going for my master's degree which is harder than I thought with my current workload. I type the last word and hit submit closing my laptop as soon as it goes through. Sliding off the kitchen stool I put my coffee cup in the sink. I’m typing Carter a quick message when I hear tires in my drive. Who could that be? I peek out the window and my worst nightmare comes true. It’s Ian. I run to the furthest room in the house which happens to be my bedroom and call Carter just as Ian starts banging on the front door. “Hey baby you on your way?” My body is shaking and I struggle to find my voice “he’s here.” “Cassie who’s there? Are you okay?” I can hear the worry as he speaks the shuffling sound of his running down the stairs overlapped by my front door breaking. “Ian” I squeak out. “I know you’re in here Cassie, come out come out wherever you are” Ian taunts his footsteps getting closer. “Please hurry Carter” I hear the sound of bones breaking indicating he has shifted and with that, the line goes dead. I hope he gets here soon.
