Chapter 24She knew it was silly, but Flanna was disappointed that her father didn’t wake up while they were there. All she wanted was a few minutes, time to tell him that she was sorry about everything and that she was going to do everything in her power to put a stop to it, once and for all. She really didn’t think that was much to ask for in the grand scheme of things.
It wasn’t to be. After ten minutes of sitting there, listening to the machines beep and hum, the door opened and the nurse poked her head in.
“The doctors are making rounds,” the nurse said quietly. “It’s probably best if you leave now.”
