A slow start

For the last two nights I've been having these awful dreams, all of them rigged with what I think is me- killing Desmond. These dreams feel so real, like I'm actually doing it. They always start with my eyes glowing with a crimson red,  Desmond screaming at me telling me to block him out. I effortlessly get behind him, shoving my hand into his chest ripping out the heart still beating in my hand, throwing it down to the ground.I wake up, sweating, and out of breath. This isn't what I'm actually feeling is it? Deep down inside I want to hurt him? I hope not.  I place my hands on the chains strapped to the man we found at the bar two nights ago. He's begging for blood but I don't listen, I'm in my head about this whole thing.  "Alannah." Desmond's says, his arms crossed and leaning against a wall.  "yeah?" I say, avoiding eye contact. He pushes himself off the wall, grabbing the chain from me,  "Are you thinking about those dreams again?" He asks.  "yeah. It's bugging me. I would never kill you, or even think about doing it-" "He's getting stronger" Peter- the guy from two nights ago- states. Desmond looks at him and pulls on the chains, cutting the air from his neck. I grab Desmond's hand, looking at him. This guy sounded like he knew what was happening, Desmond loosens his grip and I walk up to him, my eyebrow raised.  "Keep talking if you want to keep your head on your shoulders." My fists clenched.  "Jeremy is getting stronger." "how?" Peter laughs, I quickly place my thumb under his chick- above his neck. I begin to shove my thumbnail into skin, blood dripping down my arm,  "Stop her man!" He yells, but Desmond walks away, dropping the chain,  "I would tell us some new information Peter, or you won't have a tongue to talk." "Alright, alright! Alright, I'll tell you everything I know."  He tells us everything he could, him being a newbie and all he doesn't have much information. For his rank in this rising, there wasn't much- about anything. Except for this map Desmond drew from peters words about where the next turning is going to happen. We couldn't let Peter go running off to tell Jeremy so Desmond grabs the chain, pulling on it until we heard, "WAIT PLEASE!" He yells. It was almost to late, I was even surprised he could speak. Desmond does, both of our eyes roll. "What?"  "Please don't kill me! I can be of use to you" I look at Desmond, I repeat the message- we work alone. over and over in my head because on some wave length I believe he can hear me. Desmond does a quick pull as his head falls onto the floor, his body turning to ash soon after.  "I work alone." Desmond says.  I found myself thinking about this dream often, the fact that it came so easy, it was almost like I wasn't even me. I feel a sting on my collarbone, it glows a vibrant red, "holy sh-" Desmond says subtly.  "What is this?"  "I have no clue, it's never happened to me before." I cover my birth mark, I'm absolutely puzzled. I open the map looking at the locations drawn out,  "What this for anyway, I mean, he told us where they're turning, so why do we need this?" "each turning happens at 8:30 pm, there is no way we'll be able to hit all of them because they're going to be at least 8 of them. We just don't have that time, but if we can wait until Majika, Gabe, and your mother, we could hit them in two days, hopefully finding Jeremy at one of them-" "But, he would have to be at all of them, he's the only one that could turn vampires?"  "Not necessarily, all you need is a true bloods venom. one in every 6 vampires get sired to the 'True blood' that turned. If they don't drink from the one they're sired too within 28 minutes of turning, they die. whichever vampire is sired to the true blood- is the strongest, which means Jeremy is going to keep every sired vampire on his side." I look down at the map, thinking. "Am I sired to you?" Desmond chuckles, "C'mon Alannah, this isn't some Drama television show- This is real what we have going on." I grab his hand and bring it to my lips. Our story is extremely complicated.  Desmond pulls into a parking lot in a local motel. I open my purse and grab my cellphone, I scroll through my short contact list and click Majika's number.  "Hey Alannah, what's up?"  "When are guys landing tomorrow?  "Early afternoon."  "Good, because we have a busy night tomorrow."
