I had expected this to be easy. A name, a location, and a few well-placed questions should’ve led me straight to Dr. Valeria Kane. Instead, I found nothing. No records. No address. No trace that she ever existed. I leaned back in my chair, staring at the blurry photograph of her that I’d managed to dig up.
