I leaned forward, resting my elbows on the metal desk, my pulse steady but tight. My gut told me we were about to uncover something we couldn’t unsee. Kane was silent, her usual cocky smirk absent. That alone sent a shiver down my spine.
We had spent hours breaking through the Overseers’ encryption. Whoever buried this data did not want it found.
"Almost there," Kane muttered, narrowing her eyes. "Come on, you bastards. Show me your dirty little secrets."
