The hum of the terminal was the only sound, save for the faint clicking of Kane’s fingers flying over the keys. I leaned forward, resting my elbows on the metal desk, my pulse steady but tight. My gut told me we were about to uncover something we couldn’t unsee. Kane was silent, her usual cocky smirk absent. That alone sent a shiver down my spine.
