Chapter 14 Matt felt like s**t. Cody was right, and he knew it. The Bonnie Raitt song reminded him that, no matter what, he couldn’t make his friend love him, not in that way. Another song popped into his head, one that was bubbly and upbeat in spite of its oh-so-sad message: “But Not for Me.” Was friendship a consolation prize? Or was it something rare and powerful he should appreciate in its own right? Matt remembered high school, where he was not only the reigning class geek but the class sissy as well.
