~ Harley ~ The music inside the club is louder than it was before. Or maybe my ears are still ringing. Hard to tell. As the door shuts behind us, the world snaps back into motion like someone hit play on a paused movie. Pool balls crack across felt. A bottle opens somewhere. Someone laughs too loudly. But it’s different now. Everyone knows what just happened outside. And they all know I saw it. Every pair of eyes follows Quinn as we walk back through the room. Some of them glance at me. Not the curious looks from earlier. These ones are sharper. Measuring. Like I just passed some weird test I didn’t know I was taking. Quinn doesn’t stop walking until we reach the hallway again.
