Lessons for Survival

“Lily is a good name,” Rachel smiled. She looked at Lily properly and back at Clara who brought her.

“Thank you, my lady,” Lily could not help but shiver in fear. She had been in the mansion since she was eighteen, making this her sixth year of service. All through, she knew only two Lunas. The first Luna was Alpha Benjamin’s mother and after the death of Alpha Benjamin’s father, a new government took over. Alpha Benjamin took the current Luna, Rachel as his partner.

Rachel belonged to a very powerful family of aristocrats. The most powerful person in her family was her uncle, who is a military commander. He was in charge of hundreds of thousands of soldiers who guarded the pack’s borders. Rachel’s uncle was the reason why Alpha Benjamin could never take a concubine without a notable reason.

“Where did you use to work before?” Rachel asked gently.

“The cleaning department, my lady,” Lily answered.

“How did you take care of it?” Rachel turned towards Clara. The latter nodded and replied.

“Lily is not a notable figure. She has no friends as well. I got a replacement at the cleaning office and everything we do will remain buried,” Clara responded.

“Hmm, cool stuff! Get us a drink, will you?” Rachel requested. Clara nodded and went off. At this point, Lily had begun to tremble. Her intuition was enough to drive her crazy but the whole buildup was suspicious too.

“You were dragged into the mansion as a maid when you were eighteen. You were old enough to marry then…” Rachel said softly. “Do you have a lover out there?”

Okay, this had to be the whole scenario, Lily thought.

“No, my lady!” Lily exclaimed. “I have never known a man nor have I fallen in love with a man all through my stay here. Please, believe me.”

Rachel began to laugh.

“Love is not supposed to be a crime,” she replied carefully.

Lily kept mute. She didn’t want to entrap herself. Clara entered again, bearing wine. She had two drinking cups with her. Lily didn’t know what to think of this gesture.

“Let me pour you a drink,” Rachel said carefully.

“I’m sorry but I don’t drink, my lady,” Lily said shortly. Her head remained bowed.

Rachel’s smile had left her face by now. She walked carefully towards Lily with a frown. Carefully, Rachel held Lily’s chin up.

“I will give you the pleasure of teaching you how the inner mansion works!” Rachel slapped Lily right after. The latter fell down from the effect of the slap. She stood up immediately as well.

“I am sorry for annoying you, my lady,” Lily bowed.

“Good. That is the first rule,” Rachel told her calmly. “You should recognize those in power and coo up to them. You should realize that power is the greatest thing here. Do you understand?”

“Yes, my lady,” Lily replied weakly.

“Now, take that cup and accept a drink from me!” Rachel ordered. This time, Lily did as she was told. Rachel poured a good quantity of wine in the cup and Lily drank it all in a go. For some reason, this was not enough to get her drunk.

“Thank you for your grace, my lady,” Lily had to thank her even though she never wanted the wine in the first place.

“You will serve the Alpha in secret tonight!” Rachel pronounced.

“But I am…” Lily was stunned to complete her statement.

“Rule number two…” Rachel looked into her eyes. “Never ask questions!”

Lily had barely three hours to prepare but luckily for her, Clara was accessible. Of course, Lily knew that Clara was still Rachel’s spy. She remained very careful. Rachel was not feeling very good about the whole thing so she couldn’t stay to watch. Even though she had agreed about the affair, she would need to get drunk to be able to sleep that night. The thought of another woman with Alpha Benjamin was sickening enough for her.

“Why am I here?” Lily asked Clara carefully. Clara was doing her makeup when the question was asked.

“You know already,” Clara replied. “However, you are not becoming the Alpha’s concubine. Your only duty is getting pregnant. Nothing more, nothing less.”

“I don’t want to,” Lily managed to reply.

“I am afraid you have no choice,” Clara replied firmly. This marked the end of discussion on both sides. Everything depended on Alpha Benjamin now.

Come nine pm, Lily was all dolled up and waiting for Alpha Benjamin in a new nightwear which Clara had provided. The goal was to make her a proper mating partner for the Alpha. Clara was involved in the whole process. It was done very privately and even Alpha Benjamin ditched his guards before going to the room to meet Lily. Since Rachel had refused to come, Clara was the one who welcomed Alpha Benjamin.

“She is ready for you, my Lord,” Clara told him calmly. For this day, she wore make-up as well. All she wanted was to become a concubine of his. She couldn’t dare to say it directly and if she did, it was tantamount to commiting suicide.

“Watch out from here!” Alpha Benjamin replied. He could sense a change in Clara’s looks but he was moved by the curiosity of the breeder that was gotten for him so that he didn’t bother about others.

Clara nodded anyway.

Alpha Benjamin opened the door and entered the room. It was lit by several candles. Clara closed the door after him while Lily stood up to receive him. With a smile on his face, Alpha Benjamin took his seat on the bed. Lily’s head was still bowed.

“Raise your head,” he smiled. With her heart beating harder than ever, Lily raised her head. Her panic was raised to hundred percent at this point. Slowly, Lily did as he requested.

“What a pretty face,” Alpha Benjamin wondered. “Where has beauty like you been hiding in this mansion?”

Lily remained in panic mode. She couldn’t think of a reasonable response to what he had said so far. This was the first time in her life that she would be in the presence of the Alpha. It felt even terrifying because she had all his attention.

Alpha Benjamin didn’t appreciate her non-involvement but he wasn’t too angry about it either. He grabbed her chin and made her gaze at him.

“You are gorgeous,” he smiled. “You should use your mouth better, huh.”

In a few minutes, Alpha Benjamin had managed to tear the clothes she had on into shreds. She remained submissive, letting him do his thing. She would have whimpered but for the fear of the Alpha. She surrendered her all.

She was bare before him. The candles were still lit and Lily could see their shadows with a bigger size on the wall. She tried to focus on that to kill her fears. Eventually, Alpha Benjamin grabbed her body. He rubbed all over and she beared through it all. When he bends her over, Lily still cooperates. She could feel him forcing his way into her and unable to hold it in, she let out a loud cry.

Alpha Benjamin was aware that she was a virgin but he could care less. He thrust all of his length into her, watching her bleed with satisfaction visible on his face. She was his personal w***e and nothing more.

He went on and on until he reached climax. He didn’t explode into her but right on the sheets. Lily already had enough and she could feel pain all over her body. Alpha Benjamin was disgusted by her now and he pushed her down from the bed. She landed, hands first, with her head hitting the ground.

That was it. Blackout.

“What happened?” Rachel shouted the moment Clara reported to her.

“It is just as I said, my lady. The Alpha was too rough on Lily and right now, she is with the doctor. I am being told that she will be traumatized for a long time,” Clara replied.

Rachel couldn’t help but smile.

“That is good!” Rachel smiled happily. “I was worrying that the wench would be competing with me for the Alpha’s attention. It is a good thing that the Alpha doesn’t like her.”

“Yes, my lady,” Clara nodded.

“I still need a baby from her,” Rachel said seriously. “Monitor her condition and make sure what happened tonight remains a secret. Give Lily a day’s break. She will serve the Alpha the day after tomorrow.”

“Understood, my lady,” Clara bowed. She walked out quickly. Clara hadn’t walked too far when she found a guard waiting for her.

“The Alpha is waiting for you!” the guard told her firmly. Unable to react, Clara was dragged away by the guard. She didn’t protest though. She arrived at the Alpha’s feet sooner than later.

“The Luna must be very happy tonight,” Alpha Benjamin muttered, with a smile on his face.

“Well, my Lord…” Clara stopped. She had nothing to say.

“I want to know what your lady is thinking. I need the whole truth,” Alpha Benjamin said calmly.

Clara could choose to lie to him and stick with the Luna in this situation. However, that could be risky. Playing both sides was even more risky.

Rule number 3, don’t put your eggs in one basket and don’t diversify. What works for others won’t work for you so follow your heart.

That was what Clara was going to do.
