Damn

Pale white skin. Dull Blue Eyes. Unwanted curves. Flat Brown hair. That's all I see when I enter my bathroom, a reminder of my past. I sigh and get in the shower. The warm water flows down my body and immediately relaxes my tense temples. I breathe in content, almost forgetting that I had a job to get to. Almost. But I just couldn't forget the face of my incredibly handsome, but pig-headed boss. Dante Wright. His eyes were stunning electric and I felt waves pass through me when he looked at me. He was tall as a giant with pearly white teeth and flawless white skin. His hair was jet black and always combed neatly to the side since the sides were shaved. His jawline was sharp and could slice bread, to be honest. He was the image of perfection. His personality though, eh, not so much. I quickly step out of my shower and into my bedroom. It was a pretty pink bedroom. Which I hated. I preferred the color Black, or Grey, maybe white but definitely not pink, however, I had to deal with it because a crazy landlady over somewhere decided that no one could change it and- Dammit, it's 8:15. I have 15 minutes to dress and get to work or else I'd be late and won't hear the last of it from my boss. * * * I'm finally here, in my office! I made I- "Twenty minutes late Ms. Williams." That annoying voice says as I open my office door. I roll my eyes internally but answer nevertheless. "Sorry, Mr. Wright. It won't happen again." "Yes. I do hope so and I see your attire hasn't changed." He comments distastefully looking me up and down. "Still lovely as always." Notice the sarcasm. See what I mean. Pig. I look down at my outfit. Simple white shirt. Black ripped jeans. I go around doing surveys and writing bills for Lord's sake. I barely even stay in this office. I look at him sitting in my chair with his legs up and I stare at his face blankly. "As explained many times Sir. I do surveys. As in, I go outside, walk around, and interact with people. My feet will hurt if I wear heels and If you haven't noticed tight skirts and tight blouses aren't really my thing. Now if you could kindly move so I could get back to work... I would appreciate it." I snap and for a moment he looks stunned but in a flash, I'm pinned to the wall his hand tight on my waist. "Listen to me well Ms.Williams, you won't speak to me like that, Ever. " He falls quiet, his eyes piercing into mine as I am not at a loss for words. "Next time there will be consequences. Am I clear?" He says looking at me. Our faces only inches apart and I can feel his breath fan against my face making me dizzy. "Ye-Yes" I stutter pathetically. "Yes, Who?" His grip tightens on my waist. "Yes Mr.W-wright" He smirks and removes his hands and I immediately miss his warmth. Stop it! "Good girl." He then leaves the room without another word. # I never got a chance to explain my job because of. . . well... .you know. Anyway. I work for Wright Industries. A multi-billion dollar business that makes its money by selling information from the public to the responsible Companies. So basically if McDonald wanted to know how many Hispanic females wanted more fries. They would hire us. It sounds lame but it's actually really successful and creative. Doesn't sound like Mr. Wright at all right? Well, it isn't. His father died last year leaving the company to him. I've been working here since I was eighteen. I'm twenty-three now. And Mr. Pighead just thinks he's all bad and powerful. I just wanna knock him off his high horse. Anyway, so I'm doing the fun part of my job which is... surveying! Going around meeting new people is somewhat a day marker since my love life is nonexistent because I am socially Awkward. Just saying. I mean to get this job you have to be all smiles, patience, and just talk a lot. Which I can do, but dates? No. "Um, Hey excuse me?" I say putting on a huge smile towards the male with his back towards me. He spins around and gives me a small smile. "Yes?" He replies and I get a little bit of a British accent. "I'm doing a survey and I thought maybe you could help?" I start off. Normally it's easier to introduce them to what they're doing before just jumping in. "Ah, Okay, sure. Would you like to sit?" He says gesturing to a park bench "Sure" He walks ahead of me and I follow. I take time to admire his build. He was nicely built with wide shoulders and seriously tall. Well, everyone is taller than me with my 5'4 self, but still. He had blonde hair that was shaved at the sides and the top was falling over. He sits and motions for me to sit next to him. I sit and look at his face. He had freckles all over his nose and grayish eyes. His lips were pink and kind of pouty. He was cute. Scratch that Handsome but familiar. But not as handsome as Dante. What? Stop it right now! "Mum always told me I was handsome, but I never believed her until now." He remarks sounding amused and I clear my throat as I feel the blush creeping up at being caught staring. "So this survey is for the National New York Fair. It happens annually. But I don't think you're from here." I say quizzically. "No but I've been here for years, So yes I know what that is." He replies chuckling. "Oh okay." I look down to my book and ask him the appropriate questions "Okay the last one, I don't wanna waste any more of your time," I say sheepishly. "No No, it's fine, I don't really have anywhere to be and you're quite entertaining." "Oh," I reply stupidly. Really. Oh? "Mhm, So what's the next one," He says and he looks like he's trying to hide a laugh. I gotta get out of here. "Corn dogs or hot dogs?" I ask seriously and he bursts out laughing. "What?" "Seriously?" I roll my eyes and put my stuff into my bag. When he sees my actions he immediately stops and looks at me. "Okay Okay, I'm sorry. Don't leave." He says putting his hand over mine. "No it's okay I have to get back to my office anyway." "Oh really? Where do you work?" He asks, sounding curious. "Wright Industries." He looks at me confused and I was gonna ask why but he beat me to it. "I didn't get your name though." "Aspen. Aspen Williams." "I'm Damien. Lovely name by the way." He says with a wink. Okay. "Thanks. I must be going now. Thanks so much for your time Damien." "You're welcome. Don't be a stranger." I only smile and walk back to the company. I've seen him somewhere. .but where?
