"Where are you working today?"
"I have a site visit today. I'm going for an hour's drive south from Burlington. I might not pick you up at school later. I'll text Lander to do that instead. Don't enter another's car unless it's mine or Lander," he calmly said on the other line.
"You mean not Nathan's car?" I whispered not to disturb other students inside the library.
"Yeah," he bluntly admitted.
I pouted. "Hmm... that's not what you should be worried about right now. You should think about Mom. If you want to get married, you should be asking mom's hand first before mine. At least, in front of them." Though he already placed a ring on my finger, there is no denying that he should court my mother first.
I don't want to rebel against them again if I would insist on what I want right now
