Afrika twirled around with Keegan in her arms as he laughed loudly . Moesha sat, watching tv with baby Morgan and things seemed fine. But on the other side of the bedroom doors at Ashton and Stacy, tied up against the wall.
Stacy looked over at Ashton, tears running down her face as she watched the blood spill from the gunshot wound to his stomach. His breathing was heavy but he wasn't tied up like Stacy.
"Ashton, please. You have to untie me so I can stop the bleeding" she pleaded. With no Energy to barley move, he didn't know how he'd untie her but he tried.
His fingers fumbled with the rope as he tried to focus in and untie them from her wrists. Almost 10 minutes went by before the rope was loose enough for Stacy to remove it on her own and immediately, she grabbed the sheet and pressed it against his wound making him hiss loudly.
"Shhh, here" she put his hands over the blanket "Hold this here and I'm gonna try to find something to take Afrika out with"
"No, don't leave me here" he spoke .
"I have to. She has the kids"
As much as Ashton didn't want to be alone in that moment, he nodded and watched as Stacy rushed off towards the bathroom.
Kacy held Karma from behind and kissed her neck. She turned around in is arms and kissed his lips. Before she could speak, he did for her.
"I love ya too, baby"
The plane landed awhile ago and everyone was suited up and ready to go. Stepping off the plane, loud scream could be heard from inside the main hut where Kacy and Karma stayed in along with children's screams.
Everyone rushed in the hut to find Afrika holding Ashton at gun point and Keegan still in her arms.
Moesha and baby Morgan were backed up into a corner with Stacy.
"Oh look who showed up" Afrika laughed "Y'all came just in time"
"Afrika, please just put Keegan down" Ashton mumbled out in pain. She pushed the gun deeper into his head to shut him up and he sighed "Whatever you're feeling is between me and you"
"And them, cause they killed Jose" she said, matter of fact "And little Keegan here, who knows? Maybe he can be our little wager"
"For what ?"
"I want Kacy, to come with me" she smiled, looking his way.
"Me? Fa' what?"
"Don't question me, now come on or your son and father in law will suffer the consequences"
Kacy raised his gun be slowly lowered it as Dion aimed best he could and fired off a single shot , missing. Afrika dodged the shot and laughed loudly "So that's what game we playing now?"
..........
3 years later
The light rain fell down on Karma as she sat in front of the headstone that read her fathers name in bold letters. She ran her fingers across the print , feeling tears rush down her face.
It's been three years since Afrika had shot him at point blank range and she still couldn't get over the fact that he was gone. She stood up and kissed the top of his headstone before walking to her car and going to pick up Moesha from her middle school.
She entered the car with a huge smile on her face and a hand full of Valentine cards "Whoa, who those from?" Karma asked.
"My secret admirer"
"Being in 8th grade is bringing along all the boys, huh?"
Moesha laughed "Not even. I'm not worried about him or any other boy right now"
"That's my girl"
Keegan was next on the list to be picked up from pre-k and when he laid eyes on his mom, he ran right to her. "Yes I missed you too"
She signed him out and placed him in booster seat in the car and drove home, already expecting a wild scene. Opening the front door, Morgan and Morgan were wrestling by the front door while Dion and his son, Dylan, were in the kitchen going through the fridge.
"Get out my fridge, y'all two "
"Daddy, get out the fwidge" Dylan laughed, trying to make himself seem innocent.
"You just gon throw me under the bus like that?"
"What bus?"
Karma laughed and left them two alone while going towards the backyard to see Kacy still trying to set up the kids play ground set. It's been almost 2 weeks since he first started and he refused to call for help from anyone.
"Babe, still?" Karma laughed.
"This s**t complicated" he panted, wiping his freehand of sweat. Leaning in, he placed a kiss in her lips "Where they at?" He asked referring to the kids.
"Everyone inside but Kat should be on her way here now"
"Hm, I guess. Anyway, let me be alone so I can concentrate"
"I'll bring you something to drink in a little bit"
"Iight baby" walking inside, Karma ran into ask who had her arms full of grocery bags. "What's all that for?"
"Survival, the f**k" she laughed. Morgan followed behind her and pushed Karma with his hip, laughing when she swung and missed.
It's been so long since everyone had been together and been happy. And the three years that have gone by have been hard for everyone, but at the same time, it's only brought everyone closer as family.
*****
"Momma, come on" Keegan yelled as he stood by the front old rod the house. He played with the hat on his head as his sticky fingers left slight prints on the rim of it.
Karma came walking from around the corner dressed in all white like everyone was instructed to do.
"Boy don't rush me" she laughed, picking him up and walking towards the car. Moesha was standing by the passenger side of the car as Keegan was put in the backseat car seat.
The air was turned on because of the 92 degree weather outside and Kevin gates was turned on in the car. "Daddy gonna be mad if he knows about this" Moesha mumbled, texting on her phone.
"Who gon tell him?"
"Me" Keegan laughed. Moesha laughed too and Karma turned the radio off and let silence fill the air. The drive over to the venue was about 20 minutes and when Karma pulled into the parking lot, she realized she was the last one to arrive.
Walking inside, the kids was pulled one way she Karma was pulled the other. "Wait, what's going on?" She asked as her mother pulled her behind a closed door.
All Stacy did was smile as Loretta came walking from behind a door with a white dress in hand. Immediately, Karma gasped "So dramatic" Loretta laughed "Here, hurry. You're the last one"
"Last one?"
A reply wasn't given as her hair was getting done, her make up applied and dress put on. Within the next 30 minutes, she was ready.
She stood behind the closed door as the music started playing inside where people were seated. Keegan walked up beside her in a all white tux and he reached for his moms hand. "You knew about this all along baby?"
Keegan laughed and nodded "Yes momma"
The door opened, and at the front of the stage stood Kacy, Dion and Morgan all dressed in similar white tuxedos.
As she started walking , people waved at her and smiled when she noticed Ash and Kat weren't seated. Looking behind her, she saw them walking in white dresses with Morgan and Dylan escorting them.
The tears filled her eyes as she looked forward again and focused on Kacy. He licked his lips at her and smiled, looking down. He could feel as the tears burned behind his eyes but he didn't want them to fall.
After all those years together, all the good and bad memories filled his mind. All those times he f****d up but got his wife back. All those times he though she'd never come back.
Finally, each woman stood in front of their man. Looking up at Karma, seeing just how beautiful she was and being so blessed to have met someone like her , his tears started to fall as he started to cover his face with his hands.
The crowd filled with awes and Morgan nudged his side "Quit being a b***h" he mumbled. Ash hit his chest "Damn, my bad"
Karma and everyone else laughed as she wiped his tears and kissed him. The pastor began his speech and asked each couple to repeat after him and speak their written vows.
"I now pronounce you remarried, husbands and wives. You may now kiss your brides"
Later that day, as the couples danced together, Karma smiled when she looked up at Kacy "What?"
"How long you had that planned?" She laughed.
He shrugged "About 3 months. "
"You know I hate surprises Kacy but this one can be an exception"
"You wasn't the only one that ain't know. Ash and Kat found out like you"
Before Karma could speak, Keegan came up to the two and Karma picked her up. Kacy went in for a simple kiss until Keegan shot him a look and wrapped his arms around his moms neck.
"Hold up lil boy, this was my woman before you came along"
"Well she mine now" he smiled.
Kacy shook his head "Ion know where ya get that mouth from"
"My daddy"
As the night continued, everyone busied them self with drinks and food and family. Their was no drama, no problems and most of all, everyone was happy.
Wondering around the building, Kacy found Karma sitting outside along the stone wall. He walked and sat beside her "Wassup mama?"
She looked at him with a wet face before liking back out into the dark skies "I wish he was here to see this. To see Keegan. To see you. To see me happy"
"Just cause he ain't here don't mean he ain't watching ya baby. Ya know ya pops always gon be watching you."
She shook her head "All that time we went without talking over something so stupid though. We could've been spending that time together"
"Don't do that now. The bond ya pops and you had was unbreakable, which is why y'all didn't stay away for so long. I'm sure even while y'all wasn't talking, you was always on his mind."
"You think so?" She asked. Kacy wiped her face as she laid her head on his shoulder.
"I know so baby"
As a few more silent minutes went by, Karma lifted her head "There's something I have to show you"
From beside her, she grabbed the pregnancy stick and showed Kacy. He pushed it away and nodded with a smile "I already knew that"
"How?" She asked, confused.
"As much as I was nutting in ya, s**t. Ya was gon come up pregnant sooner or later"
Karma laughed and slightly pushed him "I hate you"
"I love you too baby" he grabbed her hand and entwined their fingers together. He kissed the back of her hand "And I'm never leaving your side"
