Part 2 ~ Meeting Him

1294 Words
Cassius POV I paced my office, my anger radiated off me in waves like a storm waiting to be released its fury ready to pour down on anyone that entered its heartless clutches. I was annoyed, because today I was 19 and I needed my mate by my side. The one person that could calm me down when I was at my worst, but the one person that I would spend my whole life fighting for with every breath I have. My wolf, Cane, was ready to hit anyone that got on his nerves in the slightest. His agitated pacing increased as the seconds passed, he was a ticking time bomb ready to explode. I decided to go for a quick run to cool off. I ran outside, the soft grass under my bare feet settled my anger for a second before I jumped and shifted mid stride, ripping my clothes in the process. I will just get new ones. I thought, my mind was processing everything that was going on around me. I ran deep into the forest, the trees swayed gently in the wind as if they were dancers stepping in time with the music. My ears swivelled and I heard the others coming back from school. My wolf raced forward, its paws were hitting the ground with soft thumps. My nose lifted to the sky, and I sought out the fresh water eagerly. As I was drinking an intoxicating smell surrounded me, and Cane bounded eagerly from paw to paw with excitement. I sniffed the area as my wolf howled with happiness and longing. I located the smell and moved towards it silently. In a clearing there stood a large white she wolf, she moved so swiftly and gracefully that Cane purred softly. She was creeping towards a snowshoe hare, her paws padded silently and took her closer to her prey. I watched carefully as she chased it, then killed it quickly. Her jaws chomped up the small mammal as she ate it all, after that she shifted into her human form. I turned away swiftly, respecting her and her privacy. She then did something that masked her scent, but I could still smell her and it drove me crazy not being able to claim her as mine. The she wolf then walked towards a stone and pushed it with ease, before she walked in and closed it behind her. I sat at the entrance of her den for the night wanting to stay close to her. As I heard her wake up screaming I quickly walked further into the forest as I saw her walk out of the den towards the river. I decided to head back to the pack house and then come see her again tonight. I ran back home and changed. My feet sunk into the soft carpet of my office as I got to work, and thought of her all day. As I heard the teenagers come home I strode towards them, but something made me stop suddenly. I could smell her scent on them. My wolf got excited until we smelt her blood on them, as well, or at least on Casey, my beta's daughter. I growled threateningly as they entered, they froze when they saw me and submitted instantly to me. I walked up to Casey growling deeply as I smelt her all over them. "Why do you have another wolf's scent and blood over you?" I growled lowly, and Casey cowered showing me her neck in submission. "Well you see there is this runt and she was picking a fight..." Casey trailed off as I snarled at her excuse. "What is her name?" I asked as curiosity got the best of me, Casey thought for a second before she glanced up at me. "Her name I think it is Aella, why?" She questioned her voice quiet, barely a whisper, but I heard it and shook my head at her insolences. "You dare question your Alpha!" I roared angrily and the other teenagers scattered like crows, she cowered in fear and whimpered quietly. I stormed out of the house, my breaths heavy as my anger escaped me. I shifted and headed towards the forest. I entered the forest and saw the wolf again. Her sleek coat shone in the evening sun, as she ran through the leaves happily. She looks so carefree. I observed, my eyes followed her graceful movements. I watched her for a while and decided to walk closer. I stepped on a twig and it snaps, her ears swivelled back and forth as she tried to pick up where the sound came from. She looked around cautiously for a minute before she continued to play, but she kept herself ready for attack. I walked closer, she stopped and looked directly at me, her piercing blue eyes held me captive. Aella POV I stared at the black wolf, he stopped and looked at me. I studied him, he was powerful and strong, but very swoon worthy even in wolf form. He took a step towards me I flattened my ears against my head, he circled me. He was a lot bigger and stronger than me. He tried to come closer to me, but I bared my teeth at him and snarled menacingly. He growled at me, my wolf wanted me to submit to him but I promised myself I would not submit to anyone. I would not submit to him. I could tell he was an Alpha, probably the Alpha of Casey. I growled at him, he just sat on his hind legs and watched me. I was confused. What was he doing? I lay down and watched him intently. He stood up and so did I, he nodded towards me and then to the clothes that are in my back pack. He wants me to shift. I thought, and internally rolled my eyes at this man. I shook my head and his wolf rolls his eyes, as he growled slightly. He pushed the clothes towards me and laid down getting comfortable. I could tell he is implying that he had all day to wait, so I grabbed the bag and went behind a tree to shift. When I returned he was still laying down, his head in his paws. I growled lowly to get his attention. He looked up and looked me over, I let out a warning growl, so he knew not to do that. He snarled and I snarled back angrily. He strode over to me and I shifted ready for the fight, he growled low and loudly, wanting me to submit. "Please El, I don't want you to get hurt please," Luna whimpers in my head . I blocked her out after I answered her with an 'I got this’. He growled louder this time, his patience waning as he wanted me to submit and I can tell that not many have dared defy him this long. He walked closer, but as he gets closer he seemed to relax and he stopped growling. Weird why would he do that? I studied him for a moment, he just breathed in then his wolf started to purr. Really, purring. You’re not a cat. I smirked internally and rolled my eyes at this wolf. I decided to walk away and leave this Alpha wolf to his business. As I turned away I got tackled to the ground. I growled ferociously, as loud and dominating as an alpha. The black wolf cowered slightly, then he leapt up and ran off. I shifted back, grabbed some clothes and headed inside the den. Yay, school tomorrow! I groaned thinking about all the stupid stuff Casey will do to me tomorrow.
