He remembered what happened on that day

Jane lay on the swimming pool floating bed with her eyes closed. She was still trying to assure herself that it was not just a dream. She remembered the first time she met Jayden. How could she have known that is was a billionaire and very influential? He had told her that he was a billionaire but in a way that was not to convince her. He had proposed to her and had the power to make contacts via phone and arrange such a party within such a short notice. May of the attendees came in  choppers and most of them seemed to be surprised. She also noticed that some of them were not just ordinary citizens but powerful millionaires. Whoa was Jayden Rogers and what was he in that caravan pretending to be a poor guy? She would be patient. She was his wife now and she would find out more. Jayden was a very cagey person but the mysteries would unravel. The party had been memorable. She was in the midst of class of people she never dreamt of meeting. The gigantic cake was breath taking and champagne was everywhere. Everything was in surplus but the most important was the love and respect she got that night. Tate and Kate were shocked to see that their brother-in-law was so powerful. When Jayden introduced them as Jane’s in-laws, they were treated like VIPs. Jane suddenly heard a loud splashing sound and she opened her eyes. She did not anyone but the pool had ripples and waves. The security men were outside and she was alone in the pool. Then a heard emerged suddenly by the floating bed and she let out a short loud scream. “You i***t!” She said with relief as she saw Jaden. “That was stealthy of you.” Jayden laughed. He climbed onto the bed and kissed her. “I am sorry I frightened you Mrs. Jayden.” “Oh my God!” She exclaimed. “Am I really married?” “It’s surreal, right?” “It is like a dream, Jay?” “Same here.” Jayden said. “Immediately I proposed to you and you accepted, I called Sicilia and she did not believe me. I told her to organize a party and send out invitation massages. I sent some myself and if there is one person I can rely on, it is Sicilia. She is very efficient and loyal.” “I noticed that. She said you are like a father to her. You took care of her and your younger brother since she was five and Mike was three.” Jayden smiled but she did not miss the flash of pain that reflected in his eyes which he tried to hide. It must had been tough. “She said she loves me so much because you love me and make you happy.” “Whoa!” Jane smiled. “She also said…she would not hesitate to kill me if I fuc* you up.” “She said that?” Jayden opened his eyes. “I am sorry about that.” “It’s okay if she said that.” “Jane…you are now part of the family and we have a long history: a history of love, betrayal. Violence, crime and family values. The past made us what we are. Sicilia, Mike all have their level of paranoia. Trust is a word that seems far from us. Why did she say she was surprised? Because I was too paranoid to trust a woman and get married to her. You can’t keep many secrets from a woman. Even if she does not know the details, she would have an idea. I did not marry you just because I love you but I trust you. The only people I ever trust are Sicilia and Mike…and now you. We have family secrets. Only three people know that I am SM and the owner of Ditcoin and Wallchain. I started programming since I was a teenager and help developed a software for our pawn shop. My grandfather started the pawn business in Chicago in the late 20s. He started from the streets and later went into bootlegging until 1933 when the law was abolished. You are the fourth person to know who SM is.” “Are you from Chicago?” “Yes but Grandpa migrated  from Sicily. We speak Italia and still identify with them.” “Whoa! He was a gangster, right? I mean a mafia.” Jayden laughed. “That was how they referred to them. Gangster, mobster, mafia but grandma saw himself as a business man but with characteristics of a mafia. That is how they lived their lives, and their children and us and our children. I hope you understand.” “I do understand. I have been on the streets for years so I know what the life is all about. I sold drugs too.” “Part of the reasons I love you. Your CV is good. At least you won’t be so prim to our ways of life. We live the life.” “I love the life.” They chuckled and kissed. “I love you and trust you.” Jayden said. “Sicilia said she would kill you if you fuc* with me. Women have brought the downfall of so many great men. They have been used to get at their husbands or girlfriends. I trust you won’t be like that because I will kill you before Sicilia gets to you.” She nodded. “Trust me.” “I do.” “I never bite the hand that feeds me. I can’t repay you for all you did for me so I can betray you.’ “I know.” He chuckled. “Grandpa hated that proverb and he would say it is easier to bite the hands that feeds you and claim it was a mistake. Don’t feed any murderfuc*er, throw the food at him. He had his reason though but now, I know there are exceptions.” “I understand. I have trust issues too. You are the first person I ever trusted after my siblings. You never got betrayed by your parents. My biological father, mother, and step father all betrayed me. I hated them and the world.” “It must have been a hell and you know what? I know you want to have your siblings close to you. If they want, they can move in here permanently and I will enroll them into a private school.” Her eyes glittered and then tears. “What are you?” “Your husband.’ “The annoying maverick guy I met in the club.” She said and kissed him again. “Dreams come true.” She said. “I always wanted them by me and now, they have the chance to live a better life.” “Yeah and they are now part of the Seventh Family.” “Is that what you are called?” “Actually it was Don Van Family. Some later called it The Angelos but when I became the head of the family, I called it The Seventh  Family because we are believed to exist no more.” “That is serious. How?” “It is a long story.  I, Sicilia and Mike are believed to be dead by the six families. Only the heads knew we are alive but they only knew at the time of their deaths and maybe too late to talk.” He remembered what Sicilia told him. “I whispered into his ears immediately the lights went off, I am Angelo’s daughter, Sicilia. Jayden says goodbye Vito Didi and while I served Roberto drinks, I said, Giorno Dell’amoure, Papa” She eyed him and chuckled. “You son-of-a-b***h. You killed Nicolas. That was your mission and the reason you were at the caravan and he may have fuc*ed with your family. He was the head of one of the six  families.” “My wife is smart. That is the first major secret I reveal to you.” He said. “Nicolas’s death was a wedding gift.” “Did that prompt your decision to get married to me the next day?” “He did not make me get married to you. I fell in love with you and I was going to propose but knowing he was the last and there was no love celebration going on, I decided to make ours the love of the day. His death was the most honorable because it was my wedding day.” She chuckled. “They must have done something terrible. I don’t have to know the details but mafias have a way with each other.” “Yeah.” He remembered what happened on that day…… ******
