A Noble Scandal

Chapter 2

Terrance smiled as he realized the fire he ignited in Carina with his touch. She was still that shy little girl he could easily make blush. He was eager stray from her though because she was forbidden. Why his parents arranged the marriage of his younger brother to Carina and not him he would never know. He was the eldest so she should be his wife. Wallace was still just a boy and could never satisfy her the way he could.

“Shall we retire inside and catch up Terrance,” Wallace stated to remove the twos eyes from each other. Terrance shot back a glare as he felt Carina take the opportunity to walk inside to hide her embarrassment. Wallace and Terrance have always fought for Carina even if she didn’t know it. When they where younger Wallace would make it a point to remind Terrance that he was to marry Carina. “Still jealous of me a see,” he smirked as they walked in.

“The only difference now brother is that she is mine.” Wallace sneered back. The statement infuriated Terrance to the core. He came back for one reason and one reason only. Terrance was going to take Carina for himself she would be his.

Carina walked into the large family room still shocked from the feeling of Terrance’s touch. Why now, why did he now after all the years show her any interest. He leaves for five years and now he chooses to show her anything. Her head spinner at the thought that maybe he did like her too.

She had pinned for this man for her whole life and never once did he show any kind of affection towards her. It a small touch, but she felt nothing like that before with Wallace. To be honest Wallace and Carina hadn’t been intimate in over a year. She loved him more as a brother than as a lover.

“It is good to see you all again,” Terrance stated as Wallace and hun approached Carina.

“Why have you come to see us brother,” Wallace asked. Carina knew what he saw between his brother and her. If she felt the tension in those seconds Wallace had have felt it as well.

“It seems as if you think I have an ulterior motive for being her. Can a man not visit family for no reason,” Terrance said with a sly smile. Wallace didn’t like the way he said that. What was his brother up too.
