“Are we still going to Jake’s party tonight?” Jordan asked.
We were sitting in the living room with Maggie and the girls. Chloé and her friends were upstairs in her room. Scrub or whatever they call him, has been sleeping in her room and I didn’t like it. I know they’re friends, but I don’t believe it.
“Yeah, let’s go,” Becky said. “It’s Saturday night. I don’t want to stay here tonight.”
A stampede of feet came down the stairs and my cousin entered the room. “We are leaving. What are you guys doing tonight?”
“I guess we’re going to Jake’s party,” I said.
“Sam, would you like to come?” Andy asked when she walked in. He developed a crush on her and had been trying to get her attention.
“No, thank you,” Sam replied. “I’m not a party person. Thanks anyway.”
