Double Fate

In the evening about 7 pm, all the ladies were hurrying to where the region mate finding ceremony was being held. I could see the excitement on all their faces, some hoped that their mate would be the Alpha of some powerful packs, who wouldn't want to be the Luna of a pack. However i wasn't having the urge to go cause I really didn't want history to repeat itself.

I had thought about it a day long and the possibility of history repeating itself was quite much of a tendency. Especially as Isla came back from the mate finding ceremony.

"Mom it's definitely not him!" I heard Isla crying as she walked into the living room.

I just sat down reading a book and pretended like no one was even talking which seemed to annoy her.

" Where is your mate according to the check?" her mother said as she went comforting her daughter by holding her hand.

"Howling Heights pack" I heard Isla say with that sour tone of hers.

"That's not bad though, the howling heights pack are also one of the strongest ranking three amongst the list. You're not totally in love with Dexter are you?" Her mother asked.

Isla couldn't reply but only cry which made me sick. "What about you" she asked me seeing I didn't even pay attention to both of them.

"I haven't checked yet" I replied without looking at her tearful appearance cause I would rather laugh than feel sorry for her.

"Really, then it's definitely you, it's you, it's you!!" She yelled at me which was freaking disturbing to me ears.

"You only checked yourself, how the hell do you know that it's me, stop imagining crazy things in your head" I yelled back.

"Few weeks ago, he kept asking me about you, and also saying I should give some gifts to you. He finds you attractive and I know it, you lying b***h" she shouted and cried even more.

"Listen, I ain't interested in your freaking boyfriend and the moon goddess would be making mistakes matching us up cause I find that Alpha of your's definitely unattractive" I said to her.

"Liar, everyone finds him attractive" she yelled again.

"Alright you two keep it down. Paisley why don't you go check yours out, and Isla you can't blame her, ask the moon goddess of you can" her mother said to her.

I knew I couldn't escape the mate finding ceremony for sure cause the Alpha of our pack pays attention to it. I came out of the house and shifting into my wolf form, I ran howling towards where the mate finding ceremony would be held.

I arrived there in no time cause the place wasn't that far from our house. I could see the girls lined up in front of a small house which seemed much more like a modernized hut. I stood at the back of the line and waited till it got to my turn.

After waiting for some minutes, it finally got to my turn.

"Next, I don't have all day" the woman's voice rang out from the house. I walked into the house and saw an advanced female werewolf in her sixties sitting on a rotating armed chair. She was quite old I could tell even though she looked more like she was in her thirties, her hair was tied in a bun and the spectacles she wore gave her a more serious and refined look under her blue sleeve which she rolled to her elbow. No doubt, she was the sorceress who conducted the mate finding ceremony.

"Sit here young one" she said in a hasty tone. I sat in the chair which was opposite her and she gave me a tiny clean shiny knife. "Just a little cut for a little drop of blood" she said also giving me a small silver cup.

I nodded and took the knife cutting my palm with the blood dripping steadily onto the silver cup. After the blood had dripped, I took the cup and handing it over to her, I commanded my wound to heal immediately.

She took the blood and pouring something which seemed like a red powder into it, she poured it directly on the map on the table and performed a spell.

We waited for a few seconds before the blood disappeared and then a location seemed to glow on the map. I looked at the place which glowed nervously expecting nothing worse.

"Nightshade Nook" the lady said and I immediately calmed down. Standing up about to leave this godforsaken hut when suddenly the old lady's face changed. I looked at the map and saw a quite shocking sight, a glow was also found on Silverfur Summit Pack which made me almost spit out an imaginary liquid in my mouth.

"This hasn't happened in a hundred years" the young lady said as she raised her head to look at me. "You have two different mate from two different packs, you would have to make a decision quick tonight about what pack to leave for the other, remember the main party would be tomorrow" she said to me.

I immediately left the house walking past the girls who seemed exceedingly excited about this godforsaken event. "f**k" i cursed into the air. I really couldn't risk Dexter finding me cause I knew he was the one on the map from this pack, I was a hundred percent sure of it. I shifted into my wolf form and headed home with much speed.

As I got home, I saw my father sitting on the sofa watching the news on the TV. "You're home" he said to me as I entered into the living room.

"Good evening dad" I greeted him.

"I heard what happened at the mate finding ceremony" my father said to me as I was about to go into my room.

I wasn't surprised by him finding out. He's the beta of the pack and it's normal for the sorceress to mind link him on any information about his daughter.

"Yeah" I just replied noddingy head.

"You're in a dangerous position right now, cause you seem to have two different mates amd from different packs at that. Whoever you choose out goes the other who wouldn't have a mate unless the moon goddess shows some pity on him" he said to me the same way a father lectures his child carefully.

"Ok dad, I'll think it over this night" I reassured him.

"Careful child, you don't have to rush, the main event is only next tomorrow, you still have tomorrow to think about it, definitely it might seem difficult......"

"Nightshade Nook Pack" I said cutting him off his speech after which I could see the surprised look on his face.

"What's that?" He asked me trying to confirm what I just said.

"I'm choosing Nightshade Nook Pack" I said to him with a serious face which confirmed everything for him.

"Really, thought you always wanted to have your mate in the pack, you always dreamed of working for the pack " he said to me reading my face trying to pick up anything.

"Well, things change don't they dad" i replied him with a smile. "The Nightshade Nook Pack would be rather better, I shouldn't always ne tied down to the pack should I?" I said to my father easing his discomfort and curiosity.

"Well child, that's quite understandable, you've grown up overnight, you speak more maturely now I must commend. You'll need it if you're going to that Pack" he said to me with a chuckle. "You may leave, the international news is starting " he urged me.

I knew my dad so well that nothing can make him miss that news broadcast, he's really infuriated with the developments in the human world as well as I know.

I immediately turned and walked straight ahead to my room to get some good night sleep.
