Chapter 7-1

3432 Words

7 Kamira woke up to damp air and dimmed light. Her body rested in an uncomfortable position, and there was metal against her neck. Heavy chains bound her hands, and a closer look revealed small gems that blocked the flow of magic. It seemed that Veelk’s plan had worked, and the men who’d assaulted her in the dark alley, two mindless thugs she could otherwise have taken on her own, were indeed henchmen for Cahala. She’d gotten where she needed to be, but other than that, nothing went according to plan. She hadn’t expected to be unconscious where they took her to… wherever she was. Instead, she had hoped that once she learned Cahala’s whereabouts, she could dispose of her thuggish escort and wait for Veelk outside rather than inside. Not to mention the chains that limited her use of magic.
