Let's Get This Done

**Trigger Warning!** [Max] Emilia and I have been walking for quite some time now. I have informed her of the detour that we must make. There have been reports of rouges attacking members of our pack and our neighboring pack. Our king asked me to handle it personally. I am alpha to the Dark-paw pack. My father is the right hand of our king. I took his place as alpha when I turned 18 and the king asked him to sit next him and become the hand of the king. King Augustus resides over all of the packs. We do not ever explain our hierarchy to outsiders. It's best they don't know. Although we know the neighboring kingdom is ran by vampires and they know of us, the humans of our world do not know of our existence, and we would like to keep it that way. When I first met Emi, I was on the run looking for signs of rouge activity. I ordered my beta to return to give news of what we had heard to our king. There had been eye-witness accounts of rouges near one of the local inns. After sending my beta off, I shifted back to my wolf. Only our alphas and betas can shift with clothes. My wolf was running fast through the trees and thickets. There I saw her. Her scent was sweet like peppermint and chocolates. "Mate." My wolf says to me. I finally found her. Most of us find our mates between 16-18 years old. Rarely does one have to wait like me. It was my 28th year and I still hadn't found her, until now. I fight the urge to run to her. I stood back and silently observed her. After following her for quite some time, we reached the road. She moved behind a tall bush and I could no longer see her. Snap Shit. I broke a branch trying to get a better view. There I was. Me, in my wolf form, just standing before her. She spotted me. Our eyes connect. I knew at that moment there was something special about her. Instead of screaming, she simply asked me to stay calm and she slowly backed away. I noticed a carriage coming up to our location quickly. She continued to back up and, suddenly, she was right in the path of the horses. She was going to get trampled. Without even thinking, I bolted towards her. I jump in the air towards her and shift mid air. I was either going to save her or die with her. Thankfully, I made it just in time. She was safe. My Luna. My mate. I couldn't do anything but smile. That brings us to today. On our journey, I tried to learn as much as I could about her. I asked about her home, her village, and anything else I could to get enough information about her. We arrived at the Dark Wolf Inn. Emilia looked unsure of it as we walked in. I didn't want to leave her. Not even for a second. Behind the bar was the Mid-wife, Brenda, of the Moonlight clan. The Moonlight clan is a subsection of our pack. Packs are combined of 4 sections or territories if you will. The Dark-paw pack is a combination of the Moonlight, Dark, Starburst, and Black clans. The moonlight clan borders our neighboring pack, the Blood-dawn pack. As we approached her, she noticed that I wasn't alone. "What'll it be?" Brenda said. She knew not to reveal anything of who we truly were. Any wolf can tell who is one of us and who is not. I cleared my throat and said, "I'm here to take care of your... misfortune." I tried to stay calm as my nerves were already going haywire. I just wanted to stay with her, but I knew that this would be too dangerous with her being human. I looked at Emilia and said, "Go rest over there." I didn't want her to have any idea of what was going on. The less she knew, the safer she would be. She walked to the fire and that's when I started to speak to Brenda. "The attacks have become more and more Alpha." She says in a low voice. "We have had scouts return to us with a location for their camp. It is relatively close." She hands me a map and points to the location where the scouts spotted the rouges. This needed to be taken care of and quickly. I gave her a quick nod to acknowledge that I understood. "Do you see her?" I pointed to Emilia." Do not, under any circumstances, let her leave. She is mine. My mate and I plan to make her your Luna. She does not know of us yet, and I expect you to keep it that way." Brenda nods, "Yes, Alpha." I roll the map up and proceed to place it in a pouch I have on my vest. "I will be back before the moon rises. Keep her safe until then." "As you wish, Alpha," She says. I turned on my heels and headed towards Emilia. She was so beautiful sitting there staring into the fire. It looked every ounce of control not to take her that instance. I squatted next to her and said, "Listen, I need to leave for a few hours. Don't go anywhere and don't talk to anyone except her. No matter what." I didn't want to give her the chance to respond. I quickly stood and walked out the door. As I closed the door behind me, I let out a huge sigh. This was much harder than I thought it would be. I just have to get this done as quickly as possible so I can return to my Luna. I ran to the tree line and quickly looked over the map once again. "This is where the rouge scum are." I told my wolf. "Let's get this quickly. I miss our mate." He retorts. With that, I shift and begin to run as quickly as I can to the encampment. A few hours passed. I haven't really stopped except to rest for a few minutes at a time sporadically. I could tell I was getting close. I could smell them cooking something. I followed the scent and could tell I had reached their camp. Rouges have a dirty, musky smell. They smell as though they hadn't showered in months and, to be honest, they probably haven't. As I proceed to get into range, I notice that there are only 5 of them. This was going to be easy. And it was. I bolted out of the bushes and snatched the first by the throat, clamping down quickly so he couldn't struggle. Although these rouges didn't deserve a quick death, I did not try to stay away from Emilia longer than I had to. Two more went down just as quickly. They didn't even have time to shift. The fourth had just finished stripping when he spotted me coming towards him. Mid-shift, I snatched him out of the air and he dropped to the ground dead as quickly as he jumped. The final one was already in wolf form. He looked at me and snarled. I knew this one wouldn't go as quickly. This was their leader. He stomps his front paw down to the ground with a deep growl. I knew he was ready. I didn't want to let him have a chance to strike. I sprung into action, aiming for his throat to make it quick. He dodged. He tries to retaliate but he's too slow. I spin away from him and jump with all my might onto his back. I hear a yelp as I snarl and rip his ear off. In shock from the pain, I caught him off guard and go in for the kill. I latch on to his throat. I deep growl emits from his throat and then, snap, he falls to the ground, dead. It hasn't even been a quarter of a day and I miss her already. I can't think of anything but her. I just slaughtered 5 rouge wolves. Their blood was coating my fur, and my only thoughts were of her. I want to be with her so badly, but my work isn't done. I need to be sure there aren't any more.
