Getting in the driver's side of this car feels amazing. I could not tell you the last time I have driven. I need this. To feel in control of something. I buckle in and start the car. The sound of the engine running is exhilarating. I load the beach up on my GPS and I put the car in drive and hit the gas. This is what I missed the most. Being free to do what I want. It's the little things in life you don't realize how much they mean to you until they are gone. I am never letting go of this freedom again. No man will ever do that to me again. Not that Derek would. I know he wouldn't. He's given me my freedom back piece by piece. Sitting in the driver seat hearing that cars engine roar makes me feel so powerful, so engaged.
