Chapter 7: The Moon Goddess's Warning The first seal had broken. Those four words echoed endlessly in Selena's mind as the royal convoy continued its journey through the frozen mountains. Beside her, Kael's expression remained grim. The old man who had given her mother's pendant sat quietly near the carriage window, staring at the distant horizon. No one spoke. No one dared. The atmosphere was heavy with dread. If the Blood King's prison was truly weakening, the entire werewolf world was in danger. Selena tightened her grip around the silver pendant. For some reason, it felt warm against her skin. Comforting. Almost alive. She glanced down at it. Suddenly— A pulse of silver light flashed from the pendant. The carriage vanished. At least, that's what it felt like. One moment Selena was sitting beside Kael. The next— She stood in an endless field of moonlit flowers. Silver petals drifted through the air. The sky glowed with countless stars. Selena froze. "Where am I?" A familiar voice answered. "You are between worlds." Selena spun around. A breathtaking woman stood behind her. She wore a silver gown woven from moonlight itself. A crown rested upon her head. Her eyes shone with divine power. Selena immediately recognized her. "The Moon Goddess." The goddess smiled gently. "Hello, Selena." Selena's knees nearly gave out. Every werewolf knew of the Moon Goddess. The creator of their kind. The mother of all wolves. Yet here she stood. Real. Beautiful. Terrifying. The goddess stepped closer. "I wish our first meeting were under happier circumstances." Selena swallowed. "Why am I here?" The goddess's smile faded. "Because time is running out." A chill ran through Selena's body. "The Blood King?" The goddess nodded. "The first seal was only the beginning." The field around them changed. The beautiful flowers disappeared. Darkness spread. Selena watched countless cities burn. Kingdoms crumbled. Entire armies fell. The sky turned crimson. And at the center of it all stood a man wearing black armor. The Blood King. His laughter echoed across the world. Selena's blood ran cold. "What is this?" "The future." The goddess's voice was sorrowful. "Unless you stop him." Selena stared at the destruction. Thousands. Millions. Dead. "No..." Her hands trembled. "This can't happen." The Moon Goddess looked at her with ancient sadness. "That is why you were chosen." Selena turned toward her. "Chosen for what?" The goddess raised her hand. A silver throne appeared in the darkness. Beautiful. Majestic. Powerful. The same throne Selena had seen in her visions. "The Moon Throne." The goddess's voice echoed. "The source of the Moon Queen's power." Selena's heart pounded. "The throne is real?" "Yes." "Where is it?" The goddess hesitated. "Asking that question is dangerous." "Why?" The goddess looked away. Because somewhere in the darkness, another presence had appeared. A cold laugh echoed across the void. The Moon Goddess's expression hardened. "No..." A c***k spread across the vision. Then another. Then another. Something was forcing its way into the sacred space. The darkness split apart. Two crimson eyes appeared. Ancient. Cruel. Hungry. The Blood King. Even imprisoned, he had found them. Selena felt her soul freeze. The monster smiled. "So this is the child." The Moon Goddess immediately stepped in front of Selena. "Leave." The Blood King laughed. "You sound afraid." Silver light exploded from the goddess. The darkness recoiled. Yet the Blood King's laughter continued. "Your champion is weak." Selena clenched her fists. "I'm not weak." The monster's eyes shifted toward her. His smile widened. "Good." A terrible pressure descended. "I was hoping you would say that." The ground beneath Selena cracked. The vision began collapsing. The Moon Goddess grabbed Selena's shoulders. "Listen carefully." Her voice was urgent now. "You must reach Silvermoon Citadel." Selena nodded. "Then what?" The goddess's eyes filled with concern. "Trust Kael." The words surprised her. Before Selena could ask why, the vision shattered. Everything disappeared. Selena gasped. Her eyes flew open. She was back inside the carriage. Breathing heavily. Sweat covered her skin. Kael immediately moved beside her. "Selena." His golden eyes were filled with concern. "What happened?" She looked at him. Then remembered the goddess's words. Trust Kael. Before she could answer, a loud horn sounded outside. The convoy suddenly stopped. Warriors rushed past the carriage. Weapons drawn. Kael instantly stood. Danger. Selena felt it too. She stepped outside. Her breath caught. Far ahead, at the entrance of a narrow mountain pass, thousands of dark figures blocked the road. An entire army. Black banners fluttered in the icy wind. At the front stood a woman dressed in crimson. Beautiful. Deadly. Smiling. The old man beside Selena suddenly went pale. "Impossible." Kael's expression darkened. "You." The woman laughed. Her crimson eyes gleamed. "It has been a long time, Lycan King." Selena frowned. "Who is she?" The old man whispered the answer. A name feared throughout history. "Astra..." His voice shook. "The Blood King's First General." And behind her stood ten thousand soldiers. Waiting for war. To be continued...
