Jude stirred the sauce for probably the fifth time in a row. The recipe had been easy. He just hoped it tasted as good as it smelled. The scents of garlic, lemon, and shrimp filled his small kitchen. Rex should be there any minute. He turned off the burner on the sauce, set the wooden spoon down on the spoon rest and went to check on Sebastian again. The Hendersons had purchased a big plush pet bed for Sebastian and he had been laying in it since Jude had brought him home earlier in the afternoon. Sebastian eyed him with half-closed eyes.
