As an organisation, they were in their infancy, less than twenty years old. They were into everything and espionage was not their only area of expertise. They worked closely with the CIA in America and some of us went there to further our careers. Opportunities abounded. I was sent to CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia. The U.S. Congress had authorised millions to be spent on research as well as new and improved espionage and counterespionage techniques and, as such, the CIA budget was almost limitless.” Chap had no idea where these reminiscences were heading
