Chapter Thirteen The directive stunned Chap. The more he thought about it, the more curious he became. Detectives, moving around the office, going about their business, spoke to him in passing, and most of the time he never even heard them. Although not as emotionally connected to this case as Chap, Francis, too, was confused. However, it was easier for him to come to terms with the order to suspend the investigation.
