Chapter Seventeen Later, at Chap’s home, he and Sally were sitting together, Sally’s head nestled comfortably on his shoulder, watching some inane comedy she found only mildly humorous and Chap even less so. She sensed something was bothering him. Thinking perhaps he may have fallen asleep, she lifted her head from his shoulder and nudged him with her elbow. “What?” Chap asked, startled. “Is it time for bed already?” “No, it’s not time for bed.” She turned to face him and kissed him lightly. “What’s wrong, Chap? You’ve hardly said a word all night. Is something bothering you?” Chap did not want to concern her with things he did not yet fully understand himself. However, she deserved better than his silence.
