I shivered as the light rain dripped down through the trees, the water cool against my skin as I walked mindlessly through the forest. My thick, brown hair was glued to my face, my faded blue dress soaked from the constant downpour. It had not stopped raining for hours. I was unsure exactly how long it had been since Carter and I left the cave, but I decided it didn't really matter. I was less than confident in where I was headed; all I knew was that I wanted out of the forest. I crossed my arms over my chest in an attempt to conceal even a bit of my body heat.
