Chapter 1

"BEN...BEN"

"Ben you have 10 minutes. Get your ass down or I am going to throw ice water." I was shouting from my kitchen. He was getting late for school and making me late to for my classes. 

It's been five years since I moved to Newyork with my little brother. Our parents were killed by our uncle and aunt because they wanted to take over on our business and money. Before anything could happen to us. My father and mother send us to New York to our secrete home here. This beautiful house was bought by my dad for my mother. She always wanted a normal life but she couldn't have one. No one knew about this house. Dad sends us with Peter our butler+ driver+ bodygard+ right hand of our father. He has been doing all work for us for a long time. Mom gave me some documents and personal accounts which had enough money for us to live our whole life. No one knows where we are. They were looking for us for a long time because if we return all property will be given back to us. They wanted to kill us so I had no other option than hiding my self with Ben. He was only fourteen years old then. I had to keep him safe. I am 21 now and Ben is 18 now. I love him like a mother. I can't see him sad or hurt. There is nothing he wishes for and I deny giving him. He is a good boy. He never makes trouble. Our life roams around each other. 

So this is my life. Ben and Peter and me. The bank account mom and father gave me had more than 3 million but I only use that money for Ben and on our study. I really don't have to work but I have opened my own small bakery cafe. So after school, I go there and make amazing cakes and biscuits. I learned from my mom. Like is beautiful here. I have everything I wished for but I still miss my parents. Peter is really close to me and he always helps me with all things. 

"I am here panda," Ben said hugging me

"Ben you always do this," I told him 

"Sorry panda I will not do this. I promise let's go." Ben said with a huge grin running out

"Hey what about breakfast?" I said running after him wrapping breakfast for him so he can eat it on way.

We sat in our car. I told Peter to lock home and go to our bakery. This car was gifted by my father when we moved here. I love my blush. Shinning black Mercedes Benz. She is my first love. I first went to Ben's school dropping him there than to my Newyork university. Currently I am studying business. I have to be strong so I can take over our business back. Day went as usual having fun with Trixie. She is the only friend I have other than Lucas. Lucas is my childhood friend who always lived here. We used to meet here when my parents used to bring me for vacations. He is a doctor right now doing house job in his own hospital. 

After finishing my class I went to my bakery. My bakery is always busy at lunchtime as we are located near to the biggest businessman building. "The Rand enterprises" Everyone loves our coffee and food. I was greeted by Bella, Lisa, and Peter. I put on my apron and started my work. Making fresh cookies and cakes. 

"Hey girl. How was your day?" Bella asked. She is Peter's daughter and Lisa is his wife.

"Oh it was good," I said hugging her.

"Rose come on first eat something," Lisa said pulling me to the table. She loves me a lot just like her own daughter. 

" Okay I am coming," I said kissing her cheek.

freshly baked cookie aroma filled the whole cafe. I was placing them on display when I saw Nick standing in front of the counter.

" You are on time Nick as usual. These are ready to go." I told him. He is the secretary of Mr. Rand I guess. He is tall with dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. He has a beautiful smile. He looks so handsome that whenever he is here all girls are dying to talk to him. He always here at 3 pm for freshly baked my special double chocolate chip cookies and cream coffee. 

" Well you know how much he loves your cookies. So I have to get them, hot sweety." He said smiling.

"Oh wait a second I will get them ready. Do you want something?" I asked

"Oh yes I would like to have one coffee for me too." He said. 

"Sure" 

After 10 minutes I handed him his order and he left. I got along with my work. Ben was free from his school. He informed me he is home. I told him I will be late today as I have to meet Lucas and had to go to the library. At 6 pm I left for the library. I bought some books related to my new submission. Then I went to Mcdonalds which was near to his hospital. Lucas and I had a long conversation. We didn't realize it was already 12 pm. I said my goodbyes to him and then I headed to my home. 

It was dark and I was driving really fast when I had to push brake really hard. I saw a black Porsche opened and a man laying on the road. I opened my door and went to see him. He was bleeding someone shot him twice close to his heart. His eyes were open I touched his face and tried to talk to him but his eyes got closed. He was so heavy. I somehow managed to pick him and put him in my car. I looked for his phone and stuffed it in my pocket and locked his car. I rushed back to Lucas. I called him immediately

"Lucas I have trouble."

"Where are you I am coming." He said worriedly.

"No need a man was shot on his way I guess. He is highly injured and bleeding. I am bringing him. Please help me." I said looking at that man.

"Okay I will get ready everything. In how many minutes you will be here?" He asked.

"I am just here," I told him

Soon he was outside with his helpers. They shifted him on a stretcher and rushed to the operation theater.
