Before Haylee even arrived, her voice rang out.
She spotted Carla and immediately dashed over. "Carla, you're here too! How's Mikayla? Is she alright?"
Carla reassured her. "She's fine. Let's see what Mr. Holland has to say first."
Corey poured them each a glass of water.
"Miss Sweeney, your friend got into a fight. The surveillance footage caught her throwing the first punch. Following protocol, both parties were brought to the station," he said.
Carla asked, "Do you know when she can be released?"
Corey paused, clearly torn. According to the rules, Mikayla would have to be detained for at least three days. The other person's head was injured, and they were still being examined.
If the other side refused to drop it, things could get messy.
But Corey knew Carla wasn't just anyone.
