The smell of roasted meats, fresh bread, and ripe fruits filled the air as Thalia eagerly tore into her meal. Her hunger was a primal thing, driving her to shovel food into her mouth with barely a pause for breath. The bread was warm and slightly crispy on the outside but soft within, perfect for soaking up the rich meat juices. She was so focused on her food that she barely noticed when the door opened. Marcus walked in, looking fresh from a bath and dressed in clean clothes. The scent of soap and leather clung to him as he pulled a platter of salmon toward himself. "What are you doing here?"
