CHAPTER 1: MYSELF

My name is Poorvi Mehra ,I am 15years old I am from a family of six,I have three brothers, and the only girl. The names of my parents are Mr. and Mrs Karan and Preeta Mehra, my three brother names are Akshay, Siddharth and Shaurya. Akshay is the first born,Siddharth is the second born while Shaurya is the third born,and I'm the last born. I am closer to Shaurya than the rest of my brothers ,and I'm also my dad's favorite. Being the only girl I love to dress like a boy and have a little boyish character

I'm an easy going girl, I don't look for anyone's trouble but I can be dangerous at times if you upset me .I'm a girl of varieties,I love to eat ,play ,dance and sleep. I like to get involved with boys than girls . I have a best friend ,her name is Rumi ,she is totally different from me but we do almost everything together, whenever we fight ,Shaurya always settles the fight for us because he likes Rumi but he's shy to tell her about his feelings. He bribes us with our favourite things and then tries his best to unite us.

"I'm so happy" I said

"I have a mixed feeling" Shaurya said

"Why? " I asked

"I'm happy we are moving to a new house but I'm going to miss everything thing here my friends,the house, our neighbour " I said

"Don't worry you will soon get used to our new environment" I said

I am so happy because we are moving to anew house and I'm going to change my school and I'm not happy because because we are relocating because of me,and it is affecting everyone especially my brothers ,they won't be able to go and meet their friends I'm the studio as usual and they would lose so many things that they value so much. I was expelled from my former school so my parents decided to relocate so that I can go to a new school that is far from my former school. I tried severally to tell my parents that I didn't like my school but they told me to be patient that I would soon get used to the school. So when I got expelled, my parents were angry with me but they had no choice but to take me to another school. My dad and Shaurya were so Understanding at that time that I didn't feel any guilt. Some days after the incident I apologized to them and told them that I would be careful next time .They became happy and told me their plan to relocate to a new place. I really want to forget my school and move on in life and I think going to a new school might be a good idea ,I'm going to meet new friends and try to be good throughout my stay .

"We have gotten to our destination" Dad said

"Are you for real? " I asked

"Do you like it ?" He asked

"Yes ,I love it" I replied

Wow! wow! wow! ,I can't believe I'm going to live in big beautiful house .when the car stopped ,I thought dad wanted to get something from a shop but I liked the house immediately I sighted I didn't know it was going to for us. I was so surprised when dad said it was for us at the same time I was so excited that I wanted to jump out of the car forgetting that I was sitting on the middle seat.

"Be careful" Shaurya said

"Oops! ,I forgot I was sitting in the middle" I said

"Dad I'm so sure you spent so much to get this house" I said.

"It's not too much,it's nothing since we are not poor and I can afford it" He replied

"Mum, why are you so quiet its unlike you" I asked

"Nothing it's just that I'm so tired," She replied

"Can we get out of car now ?" I asked

"Yes of course as long as you're ready" Dad replied

" Mum,let me carry you" I said jokingly

We all laughed and got out of the car,the security man opened the gate so that dad could park his car inside,then we offloading and carrying our loads inside the house then we arranged our loads and took care of the house,each of us had a separate room. The house was a three storey building, ten rooms ,two living room ,a dining room, a kitchen,a gymnastic room, a study room and a small office. After the arrangement, mum went to the kitchen to cook, and I went to my room to sleep. When the food was ready ,Shaurya came to wake me and I went to the dining to eat. After the meal, I wanted to go back to my room when mum called me back.

"Princess" Mum called as she is fond of calling me

"We need to talk" She said. I sat on the sofa facing mum,dad and my brothers. They were all looking suspicious

"You are going to resume to your new school tomorrow" Dad said

"What's the name" I asked

"Imperial college" Mum said

" Wow!," I said , "that's the popular school I told you about"

"I know that's why we decided to send you there" Dad said

"But on one condition" Mum said

"What condition ?" I asked

"You must not be caught in a bad act and you must not let people look down on you , don't allow your anger to control you" She said

"Mum you know I don't look for trouble and I try to mind my business" I said

"And you have to study hard so that you can pass this last grade and not repeat" She said

"I've heard you" I said

"Mum, go straight to the point" Akshay said

"The main reason we called you is to tell that you will be staying in the hostel" Dad said

"Are you serious ?" I asked with tears in my eyes

"Yes,your dad and I felt that would be a good way of making you let go of the past" Mum said

"Why did do that without asking for my consent" I said

"We know you wouldn't not agree so with had to do it" Dad said

"I don't want to live in the hostel please change it" I said

"We won't change our mind in no time you will adapt" Dad said

"It's not fair" I said almost crying

"Princess,that's the only choice we have" Mum said

"Will I have my personal room?" I asked

"No you will stay with other girls in the hostel" Mum replied

"Dad,are you also in support of this?" I asked

"Yes princess there's nothing I can do this is for the best" Dad said

I stood up and ran to my room, locked the door and started crying

"Poorvi, open the door" Mum and dad said repeatedly but I refused

I was so down,I have been through a lot,especially in the hand of girls from my former school and that has discouraged me from moving with girls. Rumi is the only sincere and most trusted girl I have ever met and she was the only one who was kind to me when I faced humiliation from other girls.

"Poorvi,please listen to us ", Mum said

" I need to be left alone,please go away"I said still sobbing

"Please princess this is for your own good" Dad said

I didn't reply, they kept on knocking knowing I wouldn't answer them after a while they left. I slept off and dreamt about my former school,it reminded me of the past.

When I woke up the next day,I felt a sharp pain at the side of my head,I stood up,went to the bathroom to wash my face then I remembered what had happened the previous day I wanted to take my mind off it so I took my phone to call Rumi when I heard a knocked on the door ,I knew it was Rumi my parents had called her over to plead with me ,I didn't want to open the door at first but I changed my mind and went to open it

"Have you looked at yourself in the mirror today I can't imagine you being as ugly as this" She said to lighten up my mood

"Go straight to the point ,they called you over to plead with me ,you know I won't listen" I said

"OK,you got me but you know I won't leave here today until you agree to live in the hostel" She said

"Are you supporting them ?I asked

" Do you trust me?"She asked

"Yeah I do but not on this matter" I replied

"Poorvi,you will have to live in the hostel" She said

"No I don't want to live there" I said

"We both know that you will have to live to get over the past" She said

"I said I'm not going and that's final" I said at the top of my voice

"Poorvi, stop behaving like this you know I hate when it" She said

I did not reply I continued staring at her

"I know what you are capable of doing,you stand for what you know is right and you don't allow other to choose for you" She said

" I know where you going to end this matter to so just give up "I said

" They are worried about you, you need to see how they look" She said

"If they are really worried as you have claimed then they won't allow me to go and live in the hostel" I said

"Can you just give it a try and if you don't like it they won't force you,please for my sake" She said with a baby face

"Are you sure?" I asked

"Yes,you really need to see their faces yourself" She said

"But,I'm really not interested in trying" I said

"I thought we have agreed ,I will leave room" She said

I can't allow her to leave the room because if she leaves that will abigger matter than the one on ground

"OK i'm sorry, Pinky promise" I said stretching forth my hand

"Pinky promise" She said and brought forth her hand.

We went to the living room together, when we got there I met everyone sitting down with their faces looking worried I wanted to laugh but I had to hold it. Shaurya was angry I could see it from the way he was behaving. Mum and thanked for being able to bring me out of the room,she then explained to them our agreement.

"She eventually agreed" Rumi said

"Really ?" Um asked excitedly

"Yes,but on one condition" She said

"We will do it for her as long as we have the capability" Dad said

"She will try staying there but if she does not like ,you won't force her to stay,she will have to choose herself" She said

"OK,we agree" Dad said while urging me to smile

" Pinky promise "I said stretching forth my hand to them

Dad and mum did the same .I tried to smile so as to assure them that's I've agreed but it was really difficult for me to fake a smile and I couldn't stop thinking about the dream I had,everyone one hugged each other but I could sense that Shaurya was angry with me bit he tried to hide it but other brother tried to cheer me up

"Hey can you now smile for me now?" Askay asked trying to tickle me but I dogged it

"I'm not in the mood " I said pretending to be sad

Then Rumi came and tickled me then,I tried had not to laugh but I couldn't hide it,then my brother joined her including Shaurya .

"You are too stubborn" Akshay said

"You are too stubborn " I said mimicking him

"I won't take you out anymore" He said

"Are you threatening me?" I asked putting on a serious face

"Hey,I will cut of your tongue" Siddharth said

"Mum,Akshay and Siddaharth are bullying me if you don't stop them now I won't agree to live the hostel" I said jokingly

"The two of you behave well to your younger sister" Mum said

I started laughing and open my tongue to them and started running away before I turned back they were already chasing me ,Rumi and Shaurya also joined in the chasing we ran and ran until we were tired. Mum and dad were skilling looking at us playing like we used to do before we moved our new house. Mum called us to come and eat breakfast, after eating Rumi and I went to freshen up and prepare for the afternoon's outing.
