“What the f**k happened!?!” I yell angrily, causing everyone to bare their necks in submission. Jason steps forward, “Alpha, she just lost it, her eyes were black, her purple aura was tinged in black...” he trailed off at the murderous look in my eyes. “She was so powerful...I mean she knocked Lucas out in an instant...Jason was calming her down, it was working until this jackass said those vile words to her,” Axel said, glaring at John. John is Jason’s younger brother, and I have never liked him. I glare at him, “what did you say to my mate? To your Luna!?!” I roar at him, once again causing everyone to bow in submission. “I -I didn’t mean to, it was a re- reflex,” he stutters. My eyes bore into him, and I can see the hatred for her in his eyes. I stalk up to him. “I am not asking you to accept her, I’m telling you. If I ever hear of another negative word spoken against her, I will exile you, or maybe even kill you,” I spat in his face. I give him a deathly smile, “you better hope I find my Luna....Your life depends on it. With that I walk off, Jason and Axel following behind me. We make it to my office and Axel closes the door behind us. Jason is the first to speak, “we need to find here, I volunteer, please alpha, I’ve failed her.” Nothing quite hits home like his words. I feel the same way. I attacked her, my own mate, who needed me, and I chewed into her neck...” We will go together Jason; Axel will be in charge of the pack while we are gone. Make sure everyone is ready for a possible war. We need our Luna...I need my mate.” They both nod and I know that Axel will take care of everything. “Bring our Lua back.” With that, Axel gets up and heads to the door, “They are ready for war alpha, most of them accept our Luna and will die for her. I nod as the feeling of pride takes over. I look over at Jason, who is antsy, he is ready to go find his Luna, and I couldn’t agree more. “Come on Jason, we have to go find our Luna.” We head out of the office and out the pack house, preparing to find my mate and whatever darkness surrounds her. I catch her scent the second we step into the forest. Adrien has been pacing in my head since the moment Aaliyah ran. What the hell happened to her? I didn’t sense any kind of darkness in her. My thoughts go back to the night in my office when she lost control and her eyes had turned red. I let it go but now I’m second guessing that decision. Jason looks at me, “if we shift we can find her faster.” I glance at him; I can see the worry in his eyes. Looks as if my gamma has become good friends with her, as he should. I nod as I start to strip out of my clothes. At least this time, she isn’t in heat so she would be able to kill anyone that came near her. What I was going to do if she was still consumed in darkness and tried to kill us when she saw us, I wasn’t sure. She attacked me, and I would be a fool not to consider her dangerous. I shift and Adrien immediately takes control sniffing out his mate. As soon as he takes in her scent, he takes off running in that direction, Jason following close behind. We run for a few hours before I hear a loud broken howl. One that reaches into my soul crushing me. On instinct, Adrien howls back, calling out to his mate, needing her near him. He runs faster in the direction of the springs. She had to be there because there was nothing else but mountains in this direction. By the time we got to the springs, night fell, and a steady rain started making her scent harder to track. Adrien looked around but didn’t see her. He whimpered before jumping into the water and padding around. Jason howled trying to coax her out. That’s when I noticed the white wolf standing behind the waterfall, eyes red. She was pacing, I could tell Nyx was in control. She had a crazed look on her face, and she kept shaking her as if she was trying to rid herself of the darkness that took over. I heard her whine and I had to go to her. I climbed out of the water and up into the trees that leads to the entrance. I step cautiously behind the waterfall, Jason standing off on the side letting me go to her. Nyx raises up to her full height, which isn’t much compared to me. She lifts her lips and lets out a growl. Damien growls back, a slight whine behind it. He slowly moves closer to her, watching as her eyes flicker from purple to red and back. She is fighting it, and as her eyes settle on red, I know she has lost the battle and she launches herself at me. Adrien growls, moving out of the way chomping at her hind legs, careful not to bite her to hard. Her eyes start misting black smoke and Adrien immediately back up whining, not wanting to hurt his mate. She stalks forward with a slight limp and Adrien lowers his head to her. Jason gasps at my show of submission, but I don’t take my eyes off of her. Honestly, I had to submit to her, I don’t know why, but Adrien deemed her the higher rank, and he couldn’t stop it. As she comes up to me, Nyx lets out a low growl and I know she has accepted our submission and won’t lash out at me. She looks over to Jason and snarls, demanding his submission as well. He just looks at her, it doesn’t affect him. I look over to him, if he doesn’t submit, she is going to take it as a challenge and end him. “Do it Dar she will kill you”. I say to his wolf. Dar doesn’t recognize her as his alpha and is having a hard time submitting. Slowly Dar lowers his head and Aaliyah doesn’t accept it. I can tell instantly. “Dar run!” I shout leaping on to her before she can go after him. Dar turns around and takes off running into the forest. She snarls at me and bites into my shoulder before I can react. I don’t even feel the pain because a second later she is chasing Dar into the forest. Adrien howls behind her chasing after her, determined to save Jason’s life. She is fast and Adrien is having trouble keeping up. I see her leap into the air and land on Jason’s back, biting into the back of his neck. Her claws leave deep gnashes in his shoulders. He drops to the ground whining. I leap onto her using my claws to bring her off of him. Jason’s neck is dripping blood. The fur on his back is matted with blood as he limps away. She gets up and comes at me, I can see death in her eyes, I have betrayed her, and with the primal way her wolf is reacting, she is going to have every intention on killing me. Her eyes are smoking again as she glares at me. The trees start to shake, the earth starts to crumble around my feet. Adrien howls, desperately trying to communicate with his mate. Her eyes flash again, purple, black, purple, black. Before they can settle, she turns around and runs away from me, running deeper into the forest and this time, I let her. She almost killed Jason, and I had to get him help. I was at a loss of what to do to help my mate, she was out of control, and I don’t doubt she would kill me if pushed. Whatever this darkness is around her, she was going to have to conquer this on her own, but damn if I wasn’t going to come back by myself to find her. I will watch her from a distance if I have to, but I won't be letting my mate go.

By the time we made it back to the pack, it was the next morning. I had linked healer Douglas to be waiting on me. I made up my mind, I was going to sleep for a few hours and go back to find my mate, she is trying to control it, she is trying to come back to me, I just need to help her do it. Douglas loaded Jason on to a stretcher and took him away. I was going to have to talk to Axel first, he needed to know what was going on.

“We need to talk”. I link him.

This is about your mate, isn’t it? You weren’t able to bring her back?”

I sigh and swallow the feeling of failure, no, she almost killed Jason...I have no doubt she would have killed me if Aaliyah hadn’t been fighting so hard for control. There is something else that is bothering me though.”

Axel is quiet for a moment before replying, “what is it?”

“I- she made me submit to her. I couldn’t stop myself; Adrian forced it. She tried the same with Jason and he wasn’t affected. I need you to do some research on this, on her, and don’t tell anyone, we don’t need anyone to think their alpha is weak. I’m going to go back out to find her after I wake up...Axel, man, I need her.” Axel sighs through the link, “I was afraid you were going to say that. I will find out what I can, be careful out their man, I have never felt a power like hers.” He shuts the link and I throw myself on to my bed. I fall asleep almost instantly, needing to go about my mission and find her.
