“I have to go; something is wrong, and I can’t shake it”. I repeat, for the third time, to Kai. I had no control really over what I was asking or doing of course, but I also didn’t fight it. There was something in those woods that I desperately needed, and I was going to find out what it is.
“Well, let me come with you,” He pleads.
I know Kai means well, and I actually wouldn’t mind if he came with me if I had any idea of what awaited me in there. Because even in my desperation to find what it is calling out to me, I can’t help but think it’s rather dumb to chase the unknown into the forest.
Shaking the thoughts from my head, I lock eyes with Kai, my expression softening,
“Look Kai, I would love you to come with me, but I can’t lead you into danger, I have no idea what is out
