I wake early, so early it’s still dark outside. Kai is sleeping peacefully beside me, but I feel anything but peaceful. The emotions raging within me don’t feel like my own, like some unknown force has entered my brain.

Nyx murmurs. I’m not sure exactly what she means but I can feel it as well, it’s so bad I want to be sick. Swallowing the bile that has risen in my throat, I slide out of bed and think to Sebastian.
