The children headed upstairs to their respective rooms. John lay on his bed, upward looking at the ceiling as though he could see through it into heaven and the mind of God.
His father's story was enough proof that there was God. But why he couldn't just accept it baffled him.
So many doubts about the Genesis hadn't been cleared yet the prophecies about the end time were coming to a reality one after the other.
He picked up his Bible from where he had laid it on the table earlier. He flipped open the pages to Matthew chapter 24, the bible book his father had mentioned earlier in the course of his story
With the bible on his lap, a pen and jotter in his hands, he noted the signs Jesus had made mention of as follows;
a. False Prophets - vs. 5
b. Wars and rumours of wars - vs. 6
c. International wars/ enmity -vs. 7
d. Famines, earthquakes, natural disasters -vs. 7
e. Persecution, betrayal, lawlessness & backsliding -vs 9-12
f. The Gospel will be preached in all the nations of the world - vs 14
He read further, though Jesus had mentioned that after the gospel is preached all over the world, the end will come.
Reading further, he saw that there was more. Something Jesus had called 'Abomination of Desolation' in verse 15 spoken of by Daniel. He immediately flipped open to the Book of Daniel searching each chapter for where Abomination of Desolation was mentioned.
He had come across that phrase three times in three different chapters of Daniel; Chapter 9 verse 27, chapter
