Chapter Twenty Four

When I felt through the mate bond that Hazel was terrified I knew I had to find her Lucas was already out looking for them as they had been gone awhile, he had bought the note that they had left for us over two hours ago he was worried but I had decided to give them some space they had had their lives tipped upside down and I knew they wouldn’t of gone far, I was getting on with pack matters I was just getting a daily report from my head warrior Daz when he had a link from one of the guards that rogues had been spotted getting through to the west of the territory so I sent fifteen warriors over to check and decided to join Lucas is his search for the girls. We were searching round the gardens they were extensive so they could be by any of the ponds that surrounded the gardens after half an hours' worth of searching we were having no luck, Lucas was asking some pack members sat on a bench far out into the gardens if they had seen them while I carried on to the forest “Alpha they were seen a while ago heading out into the forest over there” Lucas came running over to me in a panic, I knew where that lead and so started making my way up to the castle when it hit me the pain knocked me back and I had to steady myself from falling over “Hazel” I whispered the pain and panic she was feeling were coursing through me I stopped as a wave of adrenaline powered through me and I knew they were in trouble “LUCAS! QUICK GET UP THE HILL NOW!” I shouted as Lucas’s face paled and the other guards we had with us flew up the hill behind me I was in a daze of worry when I saw Hazel slumped on the floor my heart broke at the sight of her so upset on the floor I didn’t even realise she had gained her wings until I put my hand on her back and saw them they were truly beautiful they were blue like her eyes and shimmered like diamonds in the sunlight, that must of been why I could feel her emotions so powerfully when I was coming up the hill she had her full powers now and I’m guessing they had at least saved her, I gently stroked her back she stiffed at my touch but jumped in my arms when she realised it was me, I just sat cradling her in my arms trying to calm her down so she could tell me what had happened there was blood on her but I wasn’t sure if it was hers or her attackers, I was just so relieved that she was here in my arms where she belonged. the other warriors took off straight ahead of where Hazel pointed hoping that she was thinking clear enough to point them in the right direction, Lucas was in a state of panic he didn’t know what to do with himself he took off after them “We have one of the rogues Alpha, there's about a dozen here we need your help if we are to get the girl back” Jason linked me I reluctantly let go of Hazel and ordered the guards to take her back to the pack house I shifted and raced in the direction of the others I would rip every one of them limb from limb for hurting my mate rage coursing through me they will rue the day they came after me and my mate.

I saw the fight up ahead of me and lunged straight into the fighting ripping and tearing the rogues apart I got head to head with the biggest rouge there he had Mel on his back Lucas was stood to the side of him not taking his eyes off of Mel I barged straight into the rogue and sunk my teeth into his neck he let out a howl but managed to throw me off him, boy these rogues were tough, Mel had fallen off and was laying on the floor beneath his feet I wanted to get him away from her so Lucas could charge in and take her to safety I fought with him again teeth flashing and claws gashing into each other, finally he I got the better of him and was just ripping his throat out as Lucas scoped Mel up gently and ran off in the direction of the pack house with her, “Alpha more Rouges are coming, I’ll send more men” one of the warriors on patrol linked me I quickly linked Lucas telling him to hurry with Mel and make sure that Hazel was with the guards on her way back then I linked Daz to send for more Warriors this was it the start of the war I knew who was sending them I could keep one of them to confirm but the white witch had gone too far this time she had declared war with this and it was defiantly a war she would get.

After we got rid of all the rogues, I had one locked in the cells I wanted to make sure Hazel and Mel where ok but I knew I would get more blood on my hands this night so I linked Lucas to check instead “are the girls ok and safe?” “yes Alpha shook up and both in the hospital but they are both ok, thank you for saving my mate” Lucas replied "that's good” was all I replied then I made my way down to the cells to speak to the rogue, he was chained up hanging from the ceiling by chains, Daz had already beaten him up badly but I wanted to make sure he hurt “tell me who sent you" I demanded in my Alpha tone he just hung his head the fight gone from him his wounds deep he knew his life was over “WHO SENT YOU?" I roared this time the rogue lifted his head “she did, she said to tell you that you won't win and the little faery with all her powers will be hers” he sneered at me a smug look on his face “you do realise I’m going to kill you” a deathly silence hung in the air from the sinister way I told him he looked at me “I am proud to die having had a part in the great future that will begin with the white witch's rule” I couldn’t listen to this extremists deluded views anymore and I slit his throat were he hung, I turned to Daz as the blood poured from his pitiful body, "call a full meeting in my office now” I commanded Daz nodded his head marching off, I made my way upstairs to my office I was still covered in blood but I needed to speak to my warriors and Damien I hadn’t seen him since the fight he had gotten a pretty nasty bite of one of them.

I sat in my chair exhausted mentally and physically when they all started pouring in I sat up straighter when all my head guards and warriors entered the room along with my beta Damien “you ok Damien” I asked him "yes Alpha just a nasty bite" he told me showing no weakness he was a strong wolf, "right so I have gathered you all here because the white witch has sent a clear message that she is starting a war with us, she doesn’t want me and Hazel to be together” they all looked at each other wondering why the white witch would care about us specifically but I didn’t want to devolve everything just yet, “she has made the first move attempting the capture of Hazel and Mel but we manged to crush that plan of hers, but there will be other attempts that is why we must amass the army and ready the other packs that have offered their alliance with us, too long we have let her get away with doing whatever she wants she may be powerful but I believe she can be defeated, I want every trained warrior at the training field at first light” the head warriors nodded at me acknowledging what I had said and left the room “now I want guards posted at every entrance to the pack house and around the immediate area of the pack house, I also want guards posted in and around the midnight moon faeries village, I will go and see the queen and tell her what is going on.” I told the head guard he nodded and left the room to go and command his troops I leaned back in my chair now only Damien was left in the room he took a seat opposite me “Alpha, what can I do?” he asked me "Damien, I need you to speak to the two informants in the packs under the white witch, I need you to tell them to gather momentum for an upcoming war tell them you will send word when we are coming" I told him we needed help from within if we were to win this war the white witch was powerful but cocky of her powers and that would be her undoing, “and Damien after you have sorted that go and spend the night with your mate, we have some busy days ahead” I ordered him with a smile Damien gave me a rare smile in return “yes Alpha" then he left me in my office contemplating the upcoming war it was going to be a nasty one.
