Chapter Ten

Tristan

After Hazel left us I could tell her father knew something more was going on between me and Hazel he just glared at me the entire time we talked the queen however was preoccupied with keeping her village safe which I completely understood, “we will set up round the clock guards around the village and will interrogate these rogues to find out why they where here in the first place and why they where keeping one of yours hostage” I told her in my official manner "yes Alphas that would be good I will get some of my guards to join your guards" she said looking thoughtful "as you wish" I told her bowing lightly she then left leaving me with grumpy “sir” I started but he held a hand up to stop me "I don’t know what is going on between you and my daughter but it stops now, she is a good girl with a bright future and I don’t want it messed up” he said abruptly I just looked at him I wanted what was best for Hazel also "with all due respect sir she is of age and she is allowed to choose who she wants to choose” I said firmly he gave me a hard stare “Alpha you leave her alone” and with that he walked off I sighed heavily this wasn’t going to be easy. 

I shifted into Cole and raced back to the pack house I needed to know why the rogues where here asking for Hazel, I went straight to the building where we kept any prisoners it was separate to the main building and quite far away from it I liked to keep them well out the way, I descended down the stairs that lead to the many cells we had down here I could hear shouting and clanging around Damien had one of the rogues chained up to a chair waiting for me to arrive and interrogate him Damien stopped shouting at him when I entered the room the rogue sneered at me “so what do you want Alpha” he jeered spitting blood out of his mouth “I want to know why you are here harassing my villagers and holding them hostage” I asked him calmly “I wont say anything” he replied "oh ok then, you think ill just let you go then?” my tone cocky he just sneered at me again “ill ask again, why where you here? Who sent you?" I asked coldly the rogue just looked at me and didn’t say a word I nodded to Damien who went behind the rogue and started pulling off his finger nails the rogue carried on staring at me wincing every now and again he was a tough one to crack Damien pulled harder this time and the rogue finally shouted in pain someone mind linked me “alpha come in here this rogue is ready to confess” it was Lucas he had one of the other rogues I smirked at the rogue looks like one of your comrades is weaker I will find out what is going on Damien come with me" the rogue started shouting “don’t say anything you useless mutts” he roared and me and Damien left him struggling against his restraints I went into the cell that Lucas had called me too, "alpha" Lucas nodded and bowed to me and Damien as when entered the cell the rogue was tied up the same but was considerably more beaten up his face was battered and bruised “tell me” I demanded from him "It was her, the witch told us to come she made us, I didn’t want to but she made us" the rogue wailed "what witch and why does she care about us?" I asked him "the white witch she said that she wanted the Alphas fairy and to get a girl called Hazel, she didn’t say why she just told us to and that was it” he wailed again “anything else I need to know?" I roared why was she after Hazel and how did she know of our bond already someone must of told but only my most trusted family and friends knew but I didn’t know who Hazel had told. "No Alpha I don’t know anything else I swear, all she said was that she was coming for you and that you will rue the day that you banished her" I knew exactly who had done this now, and she had some how managed to find out about me and Hazel already and right now none of those fairies down in the glade where safe, I needed to speak to Hazel and ask her who she had told about us, I knew that Damien and Lucas would never betray me or my mother so it had to be someone that she had told or someone that had seen us. I ran up stairs to grab my phone, there was already a message from Hazel I slumped onto my bed at her message my heart was warmed at her connection with me but her father didn’t want us to see each other he would have to be won around, I would go there in person now and show my loyalty to his daughter. 

I shifted into Cole and ran all the way to the village everything was silent the queen had set a curfew to keep everyone in after dark I understood but I didn’t like setting such rules, I changed into my clothes behind a tree and walked over to Hazels house, I wasn’t nervous or so I kept telling myself, I knocked on the door lightly and waited, someone the other side had cast a spell to make the door see through so they could see who was at the door, “it is I Alpha Tristan” I said the door opened Hazels dad was stood tall and confidently I guessed hazels mother beside him looking at me softly “please may I come in, I need to speak with yourselves and hazel" I asked politely her dad let out a huff and stepped aside to let me through I walked through the quaint hallway looking up the stairs I saw little eyes peering under the banister at me must be hazels younger brothers I thought to myself "get to bed boys their dad barked and we could hear them scurry off to bed I smiled to myself, we went through to the dinning room Hazel wasn’t there so I sat down with her parents "would you like a drink?" Hazels mum asked me "no I'm fine thank you" I replied with a smile she was nice I then turned to her dad “sir I know you are probably not best pleased but there is now a situation that needs handling” he sat up listening now "what is it?" he asked "I found out from the rogues that the white witch is after Hazel she has learned that she is my mate and is insistent on taking her away from me ” Hazels dad looked at me I couldn’t quiet read his expression "I’m Dean by the way and this is my wife Elsie” I nodded at her and she gave me a small smile, "so what do you suggest we do about this then?" Dean asked arms folded “well at the moment they know Hazel is in the village so they will keep coming here, so even if I just take Hazel the rest of the village and yourselves aren't safe, I propose moving everyone closer to the pack house to keep everyone safe, there is an abandoned building not far from us I can have it ready for everyone in two days” I told him Elsie was looking worriedly at her husband “we have guards and your guards what makes you say we cant defend ourselves from the white witch she is powerful yes but we send Hazel to stay in the queens palace and there she will be safe" he said thoughtfully "all due respect sir but no one will be able to protect Hazel as well as I can" I told him sternly Elsie simpered across the table Dean was looking annoyed "I don't want her with you, you have only just found out she's your mate and look what has already happened she is not safe with you and your kind will not accept her as your Luna we all know that, I just want my daughter safe and happy and I believe she would do better without you" Dean looked determined finally saying exactly what he thought "I understand, this isn't the usual way things go and wolves don’t usually end up with fairies, but this time one has and I want to do everything in my power to be with her and love her and take care of her, ill go to the councils ill do whatever it takes all I know is that I want Hazel to be my mate" I finished my piece Elsie was wiping tears from her eyes and Dean was still looking at me quizzically "and how does my daughter feel about this?" he asked "I wouldn’t like to speak for her" I said confident that she would go the distance with me but a small simmer of doubt lingered until she popped into the room “daddy I want to be with Tristan" she said softly from the doorway her mum broke down and went to go an hug her daughter, Dean stood up “Hazel this wont be easy people will be against it, but if it is really what you want then I wont stand in your way" Hazel grinned and ran to give her father a hug “its what I want dad" then the atmosphere in the room changed and everyone seemed more relaxed, “so about the problem that we have at hand” Dean said looking serious again “did you hear Hazel" Dean asked her “yes I heard the white which is after me" she sighed "I don’t understand how she already knows” Hazel looked at me “who knows about us Hazel?" I asked her "only Mel and my parents, Mel would never tell and my parents only just really found out, a couple of people saw us though” she said biting her lip "well someone has told her someone who is obviously in close contact with her to let her know so soon aswel, well for now we need to make sure you and everyone in the village is safe, I have tightened security and got people on the outer perimeters on 24hour watch if anyone makes it into our lands I will know about it, I completely understand that you want Hazel to stay with you in the village for now” I told them Dean looked over at me then at Hazel "its too soon to take her to the pack house, surely you think so too Hazel?” Dean asked her Hazel looked down “yes, I’m not ready for that" she said quietly I understood she’s not a wolf she doesn’t feel the bond like I do. "Ok that will have to do for now" I sighed standing up "pleasure to meet both of you" everyone else stood up aswel to see me out they walked me to the front door and we all said our goodbyes Hazel seemed like she wanted to say something so her mother ushered her husband back into the house Hazel stepped out into the chilly night with me “I'm sorry I'm not ready to come back with you yet” she said quietly looking at the ground I lifted her head up to look at me “hey we go at your pace, not mine or not quicker because some witch, your pace and ill wait for as long as it takes” I told her meaning it, she smiled “thank you Tristan” she breathed "anything for you my little fairy” I lightly kissed her on the lips "goodnight" I whispered "good night” she whispered back I then walked off to shift into Cole and ran back to the pack house.
