Chapter Sixteen

Hazel

Me and Polly where getting along really well she was outspoken and just said what she was thinking I really liked her she reminded me of Mel quite a bit I found out that her and Damien had found out they were mates around four months ago she was from a different pack but she moved here with Damien when they felt the mate bond at a party, she was liking it here but missed her friends and family a lot seen as she was still new round here she didn’t have that many friends and Damien was always busy being the Beta of the pack so she was glad I was here tonight so really we kept each other company while the boys where busy, “so Hazel what’s going on with you and Tristan?" she asked taking a sip of her drink "well I’m not sure if he wants me to tell people but we are mates” I said smiling “oh really that’s amazing!" Polly looked excited “oh I hope that means you will be around more often than" she said with a grin “well we are taking things slow I don’t feel the bond like him being a fairy and I haven’t gained my wings yet so it's all new to me” I sighed “oh wow, when will you get your wings?” Polly asked sounding interested “well usually they come when your body feels you are ready or in some cases they will come if you are in danger and need to get out of a situation” I told her "wow it's so fascinating, so what powers will you get?” Polly asked I smiled “oh sorry am I getting too person tell me to stop if I am" Polly said looking awful “no no its fine I'm just not really sure the only power anyone is sure of is being able to turn really small and getting your wings so you can fly” I told her not wanting to say much about what Mabel had told me "oh wow that would be amazing anyway!” Polly exclaimed, “Well you can turn into a wolf!” I giggled “yeah I do love Lou she’s my wolf, she’s kept me company all these months” Polly sounded wistful "that’s so cool always having someone with you” "it can be it can also be a pain when she’s nagging me" Polly chuckled "oh what’s this here then" someone sneered standing beside us “oh hey Ruby” Polly addressed the new comer “you met Hazel” Polly pointed towards me “I’ve seen her she was in here with the Alpha and his mother earlier” Ruby said looking me up and down a dark expression on her face “yeah they are friends" Polly said giving me a wink I was grateful she didn’t tell her we are mates I got the impression Ruby didn’t like me much “so tell me Hazel why is the Alpha friends with a fairy" she spat the word fairy like it was filthy "well maybe you should ask the Alpha that” I said to her confidently I wasn’t going to let this girl walk all over me she didn’t even know me “well I don’t like it, something’s going on here and I'm going to figure out what” Ruby huffed “what’s the problem Ruby Hazels really nice maybe you should join us and get to know her” Polly offered “no thanks I have other things to do, I'll see what the Alpha is up to later” Ruby smirked they obviously did have a thing “ok Ruby see you round” Polly tried to keep things light as Ruby strutted off “I hate to tell you but I suppose I probably should Tristan and Ruby where sleeping together it was never anything more than that to him I don't think he never paid her much attention when around the pack house anyway not for lack of trying on Ruby’s part but she knows there’s more to you two so I thought I better tell you why she’s being a bit bitter towards you, she will get over it, she hasn’t met her mate yet” Polly whispered to me “ok now I understand anyway, what Tristan did before me, isn’t really my business but it's good to know why she’s being rude to me” I told Polly grateful to have her, we then got back to chatting away about everything and anything. “Hmm oh my its 10pm!, where are those boys?" Polly shouted shocked "I will link Damien I can't link the Alpha yet but since Damien marked me I can link him at least her eyes glazed over as she tried to contact Damien "he said they will be down really soon and sorry that it's taken so long” Polly had a sympathetic look on her face, are you staying here tonight?" she asked me "I think so I need to phone my parents” I told her “that’s fine you tell your parents and I'll show you up to Tristan's room so you can take a shower I'll go and grab you some of my pjs and some spare clothes for tomorrow” Polly said "oh thank you so much” I was so grateful Polly really was lovely “no problem" Polly stood up with a smile I dialled my parents not knowing how they would react to me telling them I would be staying with Tristan I hadn’t fully realised myself that I was going to my heart started hammering in my chest at the thought of sharing a bed with him but then I remembered the feeling as he nuzzled my neck and ear earlier “hey" my mum answered the phone "hey" I blurted shaking myself from my thoughts about Tristan “hey mum I’m going to stay at the pack house tonight Tristan said it would be safer there was another rogue attack earlier but they managed to get to them before they got to the village” I told my mum “ok sweetie, if you are happy staying there than that’s fine with me” my mum said “ok thanks mum, love you" "love you sweetie be safe, I will see you tomorrow” yes see you tomorrow” I told my mum before turning off the phone I then followed Polly up six flights of stairs to the level that Tristan's room was one “ok this is Tristan's room, I'll go and grab you some clothes and things you get comfortable, Damien had someone come and unlock the door for you” Polly said smiling “thank you so much Polly I really appreciate it" I told her giving her a hug "no worries" she smiled waking off to her room I took a deep breath calming my nerves before opening Tristan's room there was no going back now, I opened the door to reveal a huge bedroom a corner sofa and TV where the first things to come into view I walked slowly into the room closing the door behind me “what are you doing in here!”
