2 The first thing that jarred her was the sight of her father standing with his arm around the waist of a total stranger. Like a paper doll cut out had been slipped into place next to him where her mother would normally be standing, should be standing. She had seen what his new wife looked like in the images he'd emailed. They'd even managed to film a short video on his cell phone of their wedding, elopement really, that he'd sent to her and Jimmy.
