Chapter 42 I didn’t want to do anything except go home and go to bed, remaining there for the rest of my natural life. Instead I got a cab over to Timothy’s Bar and Grill, retrieved my car, and went out to look for the mayor. He seemed to spend a lot of his time checking on his various properties, so I started by working my way through the list. I checked the same places I had seen him visit the last time I was tailing him, but I didn’t see any sign of his vehicle at first. The atmosphere in town was tense and still, like a room where something bad is about to happen. University police patrolled the campus, assisted by a show of force from Hennington PD.
