A witches' tale: the seekers

Levands pov: 

Sometimes deception is the only answer to any solution until a solution can be found.  I can't imagine not having my daughter grow up at my side. I can't protect her or her mother from the demons after the Child of the Celestial. The best I can do is to use what powers I have left to hide her the best I can. Moon Goddess I pray that it is enough for you and the other Seekers to find and protect her when the time is right.

They have come for her. She is no longer here. 

What happens next is in Goddess Hecate and the Moon Goddess hands. I have given her everything that I have with in me to give her protection. 

A chanted one last spell of goodbye. As the last of the words were passing thru my parted lips I heard the entrance being breached. Darkness has arrived.

Salinas Pov:

Tired from the travels to reach the Coldmoon pack and a full day and a half of seeking I must now truly rest. Sengery will wake me if needed. I need to reach out to Levand's spirit. The best way to reach him is when I am in a dream state. There are risk about being in the dream state. I am limited on the magic I can access while I am in this state. It leaves me vulnerable. Sengery will do her best to keep me protected while I can not protect myself. I am grateful for her friendship. She has always proved to be more of a daughter in times likes this.  

I mindlink Sengery my plans. I can not be interrupted if this is to work. I rub the locket I wear. Levand gifted it to me when he was a young lad. He had cut a lock of his hair and wrapped it inside the smallest  bloom from a moonflower vine. With his first magic learned he sealed the locket. Telling me he did it so that  I would always have a piece of him safely with me when he was away from home with his studies. He was so proud that his first magic spell was a gift to his mother. I don't know that I can reach Levand but I must try. Somethings in the air and its giving me mixed signals. I came here to hunt for his daughter. He's led me here and she's not here. There's no sign of her here and no one seems to know anything about her. I have spent hours searching and nothing. If I am missing something its a good time for him to let me know. This Alpha is not an Alpha that I want to have any control over me or Singery. His pack members are loyal out of the fear they have of their Alpha not for loyalty out of respect for a good leader. I need to know what he has not shown me yet. I need to know if the doors waiting on me will open and give me more. I was hoping to find her quickly. Talk her into coming back to the coven and be with her family, I can't do that if I can't find her. Theres not much time before the Celestial Moon Ceremony and I have to be back in the fold of the Coven. My place with in the coven demands my participation. We have alot to do to ensure the safety of our High Priestess. I am selfish and do not want to wait to find her either. If not found soon I will have to delay finding her to be apart of the preparations for the ceremony. All of the witches' are expected to be present and pledge their loyalty to the new priestess. The pledge is done with a blood oath. Each witch will use the ceremonial punch-out to cut the shape of the moon on the inside of the right thumb. Bringing forth three drops of blood to drip onto the bloodstone. The blood stone is embedded deep with in the Earth. The seekers keep it safely hidden until its time for the ceremony. The ceremony last for several days to ensure that witches from all over are given the time needed to pledge an oath of fealty. Once the ceremony is complete the blood stone will draw strength from all that have pledged and then be returned safely to its hiding spot until it is summoned again. Only the high priestess can draw power from the blood stone. Using it she can channel the magic and strength of every witch and warlock that has pledged their fealty to her. The blood stone is there for her alone to use to protect all of its followers from outside forces. Not all will pledge their oath. The vampires are the worst. Their blood thirst draws them to  the ceremony with the scent of the fresh blood hanging heavily in the air. The seekers are assigned the task of masking the scent of blood to hide the location of so many witches' in one location at one time. Having many of us in one place pulls alot of magic and power together. It is also when we are most vulnerable as all of our powers are weakened during the transfer of power from one Priestess to her successor.  There is much that she can learn from the ceremony. Most importantly I want to ensure that she has the Priestess protection. She has to be present in order to give her oath.  If I am no longer living there will be no others with the strength to keep her safe if she is without the Priestess protection. 

I knew something bad happened to Levand. His display with his corpse reaffirmed it. What I don't understand is what really happened or the why. I never knew Levand to be tied up in Werewolf events. This Alpha knows Levand. Of that I am sure. That doesn't surprise me. Levand was always out and about. He was known by many and he knew many. It's just a feeling. I will know for sure when I talk to him next. His reaction to Levand's name will tell me alot. 

I closed my eyes and let my sleep state take me away. 

I opened my eyes back up and found myself sitting at a round table. The table is from the covens main round table room. The round table shape represents the moon. We witches are tied to the moons more than the were wolfs are. The werewolves of this time have evolved beyond the moon controlling their ability to shift. The witches' of this time are more inclined to keep the peace with the werewolves of this time. It is mutually beneficial as the demons and the vampires are always conspiring to be the supreme beings of the super natural world. The Moon Goddess and Hecate are always watching what goes on with the witches' and the werewolves as well as the other super natural beings. The Moon Goddess being more motherly and mating her followers with mates that help provide and protect the peace alliance. Hecate is more like the God Loki in a Witches' form. One aligned with Hecate is one that bears watching as they are not to be trusted.

 At the round table there are three sitting. I grabbed a chair and sat making our numbers a total of four. Each of us at even points. My sister Minka sitting to the left of me. The High Priestess, Starla sitting to the right. My Levand is sitting directly a crossed the table from me. 

"Well, who wishes to go first. As clearly I do not know why we are here in the conference hall." I asked of everyone. I clearly had so much more to say. Somehow it seemed there was something really important going on that I was not aware of. 

Starla raised her hand with a gentle motion. "Salina, we, Levand, Minka, and I have been waiting for S journey to begin. I needed you out from under the influence of the  elders.  The elders could not know of her existence. There are those even amongst the elders whom will seek to control her and the powers that will become hers very shortly. I can only delay by minutes not days the transfer of power. The Celestial Moons are soon to align. The demons and the vampires are getting restless knowing this. They are confident that this is their time to take the control of the Celestial Moons and steal away the power the High Priestess holds. The prophecy child has been born. Very few know that she is here. She does not even know what or who she really is. She will be taking my place in a few short weeks and we have to find her and help her to unlock the power she already holds. We have to seek her quietly so that the demons can not harm her nor take her prisoner before the transfer of power can take place. If we fail to find and protect her then they could annihilate her and all of the remaining witches will fall under the control of evil that surpasses the likes that we have known before.  Levand has been protecting her during the years of her youth. I have known who she was from the day she was born. This involves all of you as the child to be the next High Priestess is Levand's daughter, Nelaf, your grand daughter Salina. Levand has been the protector of her secret from her birth. Not even his mate is aware of the real reason that he has taken such measures to protect her. Sacrificing themselves to do so on mine and her behalf. We must now find her. Protect her and help her access the power with in her. My time as the High Priestess transfers to Nelaf at the Celestial event. There are many watching for clues to  learn who my successor will be. I have brought you all here so that we can discuss how best we can protect her until the Celestial Moon event takes place and the transfer of powers have been completed. Time is not on our side. That her identity is hidden and she knows nothing of her true identity means we must act with haste and secure her trust. She is young, we must ensure that she does not cause harm too befall herself as we are educating her on her future." sighing Starla looked at Levand. "First we must find her. The only one to know her where about has been Levand and Levand has been sleeping all this time. Awaking at the same time Nelafs wolf appeared to her. We do not have much time before her magical side shows up. The Moon Goddess is watching over her for now. The rest will be in our hands."

I was not facing Starla. I heard her. I only had eyes for my son who was staring equally hard back at me. He looked aged. He did not look like he should have if he is the spirit of his younger self when he had passed on. A spirit does not age. Here we are all spirits. We are true to our natural form. We can not mind link as we would like. We can not cast spells. This table is a truth table. All was heard by all parties. Here the validity of the discussion was with out question. The spells cast  to ensure it were cast by the eldest of the elders. By the ones who created the truth table in the first place. 

While I had much I wanted to say to him I felt that due to our audience it was best if I sat back and said nothing so that I could find out what they wanted me to know. I still have time to reach out to Levand with out having any one to witness it. Right now soaking in the site of him brought my heart joy. I would have to satisfy myself with that alone at this moment.
