A Werewolfs tale: touching a ghost

1779 Words
Logans POV: He can't be serious right now? This werewolf that wants me to believe he is my father. Now he wants me to meet my dead mother! What kind of crazy is he! Tegan, what the f#$% am I to do. You are sitting here quiet. Don't you think you have been quiet long enough!  I was still met with nothing! What the f$%#!! I stood up so fast I slung the chair I was sitting in backwards. It hit the floor hard and bounced a few times. Hulron just raised an eyebrow at me inquisitively. Does he not understand that I feel no connection to him. Not the kind of connection I should be feeling if he is truly my parent! I began pacing back and forth slowly trying to think. Waiting for Tegan as I could feel him stirring.  Hulrons POV: I knew that I needed to give Logan time to  process what I had just told him. I still can't believe that I am standing here looking at my very own blood. He is a man. He is a werewolf. He is strong. He is special I can tell. Why for the love of Goddess was I never able to find him before now? I had lots of questions to ask him but I know that we both need time. The Moon Goddess sent him. Until he gives me a sign he is ready for more I need to find out his mission and see what I can do to assist him. "Logan, so tell me. You were sent here on a mission that led you here to the towers or to me personally? The Moon Goddess must think very highly of you to send you out. Based off your own admissions I am assuming that you had no formal training as a warrior or defender. I am assuming then that your wolf is extremely strong and has taken the time to make you his equal in your human form or is that part something I get to help with?" The question was meant to steer us both away from all the personal questions that needed asking.  Logan of course did not respond. Based off his body language my words appeared to fall on deaf ears. He reminded me much of myself. I could tell he was talking to his wolf by the smokiness of his eyes. Yelling at him more than likely since he was unwilling to yell at me yet. I wander how many time I would have sat staring at him like this during his teen years. I wander how many times that look would have been about him and his mother disagreeing. I couldn't help but smile as I imagined what life should have been like. "So you are my father?" Came a new voice. I assume this would be my pups wolf. "Yes, pup. That I am."  "I carry a magic amulet that I wear when ever I venture outside the walls of the towers, it cloaks my scent. It was created by the witches of the towers. It is for my protection, " Taking off the amulet I handed it over to him.  "Seeing you in the light there is no doubt I am looking at the image of my younger self as well as detecting a mixture of mine and my mates scent. Its that blend that is your scent son. Your mothers scent is my most cherished smell"  Rowdy was stirring and was talking werewolf to werewolf and I didn't care. If he could get thru to Logan then so be it. I was just happy to be looking at him. This is a day that I never thought to see.  I watched as Logan hung his head lost in thought. I know this is hard for him. I saw his nose start twitching a bit as my scent finally reached him. With out the amulet on it would be only a few seconds before the smell would reach him and he would feel the connection.  "I am what known as a Ganeswolf. I am one of a select few that hold that title. The mission at hand is that I was sent to find information on what happened to a wolf named Indy. She was a werewolf that was a member of the Coldmoon Pack. Her last known place was the Coldmoon pack and then nothing." The Moon Goddess believes there is more to know. She believes you and this place is the right place to start. " The voice was once again of my son Logan.  He turned to face me, looked me in the eyes. "I wish to meet my mother. How do you meet someone that is no longer of this world? I am not willing to die just yet to meet her in the next life as I had always envisioned I would do. I still remember her voice, The voice that told me my name as I was carried away by another." "Son, there's a reason I choose to be here all these years. To everyone that knew me I was dead the day of the attack that cost me you and your mother. The only one that knew that I was alive still was your Grand mother, your mothers mother, her name was Luna Karen. She had been the Luna of her Pack. Your mother is an Alphas daughter. I am just a Gamma. My wolf is strong but your wolfs true strength comes from your mothers side. You are the last of your mothers line. I tried so hard to find out what happened to you, We were wolves are viscous creatures. Rouges especially, they have been known to eat young wolves not just kill them."  "I don't know what became of Indy but I can tell you that she was mated to a Warlock named  Levand. I know this as Levand. He is the one who helped me survive my injuries and helped me get here so that I could be with your mother. He is also the one that cast a spell so that my werewolf's true scent could only be detected by my mate when the attack happened. He did so to protect me in my weakened state at the time of the attack."  I stood up and held out my hand to Logan as I spoke those last few words. He stared at my open palm for a few minutes and finally extended his own hand forward. I couldn't help myself as I pulled him forward wrapping him in a big hug. My old body began to shake as I held him close.  "My pup. Your Mother is going to be over joyed." Patting him on the back, I stepped back. Looked him in the eyes and said "Lets go before she never lets me live it down that I kept you all to myself!" Logans Pov: We walked out the sitting quarters we had been sitting in and started walking back thru the winding hallways back towards the center of the towers. Walking thru Hulrons excitement is getting more visible. The last hallway led to a door that led to a small courtyard that surrounded the larger tower that I had been viewing when I was outside the Towers. Getting closer I could hear alot of wind that sounded like howling.  "I know this is called the Tower of the Lost Souls. So tell me, what is the meaning of the outer towers?" I asked Blade.  Blade seemed to take a really deep breath while thinking how to answer or if to answer. "There are thirteen towers in all. I am sure you saw that when you were watching from the shadows. Each of the outer thirteen towers represent the original thirteen covens of witch's. The thirteen created the Tower of the Lost Souls. Each of the covens swore an oath to protect certain Were wolfs that were considered to be rare or valuable to the balance of the peace between the werewolves and the witches. Sometimes that oath covered the afterlife as well as the present. There are several creatures that look for the powers of the dead here. Vampires are on the top of the list."  The inner tower door was much like those on the outside only smaller. Large metal hinges seemed to be rusted in place on the think wooden slats yet barely made a sound as he pulled the door open. He pointed to the center of the tower floor to a large pool of water. He instructed me to bathe as he walked into another room beyond this one. Pulling off my clothes I laid them to the side and stepped into the pool of water. The waters were rather warm and relaxing. I laid back and surprisingly closed my eyes and instantly fell asleep.  Slowly fingers were being brushed a crossed my forehead. I heard a woman's voice talking about what a sweet baby. Opening my eyes I realized I was the sweet baby she was referring too. I don't believe I have ever been called anyone's sweet baby before.  "Ma'am. I don't believe this is appropriate I was just taking a damn bath before meeting my mother. So if you will find your way out I need to get dressed before Hulron comes back." I stood up, wrapped a towel around myself trying to be decent. I stepped behind the screen and dressed. If my mother was here I didn't want to embarrass her. This woman was a beauty. I couldn't wait to see my mother I bet she was a beauty as well. I couldn't believe this woman was still standing here. Were the hell had Hulron got off too. I couldn't believe I fell sleep. I don't even know the time.  "Logan, are you really my little Logan all grown up?"  The beauty asked. "Well, now that depends on who you might be....say my full name for me." I asked of her. I already knew it was her after hearing her speak just now. I just needed to put a face to the voice I have been hearing all these years. I wanted to watch her actually call my name. "Logan Slade Starke, My son, My baby! Oh how I have missed you!!" "Mom, Mom, It really is you!" I ran to her, Dropping to my knees I wrapped my arms around her and pressed my head against chest. I felt her tears. I don't know how this possible. In this moment I don't care. I can't believe I am finally hugging my momma.
