This book is a work of imagination that relied on research for historical and medical accuracy. Dr. Barclay McKone’s papers “Moose Factory Indian Hospital,” “Eastern Arctic Medical and X-Ray Survey 1955” and “Rehabilitation for Indians and Eskimo” were an invaluable genesis for this novel and they are housed at the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library at the University of Toronto.
