We have a silent stare off as he pulls his hand away. I want the ground beneath me open and swallow me whole. To save me from this incredible awkwardness I just caused. What the hell do I say to him now? He’s my mentor and I just pretty much told him I’d bang him if he was my age. Someone, please, just murder me and save me from this embarrassment. Suddenly, Kir coughs in a very awkward way and I can see that his cheeks are slightly flushed. I mean, how wouldn’t they be, after what I just told him?! “Well, I appreciate the compliment. I’m flattered,” he finally tells me, clearly embarrassed about saying anything at all. “Oh, no. I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean it like that … It’s just ... You’re like my soulmate, you know? Okay, no, never mind, I’m just making this worse,” I babble in respon
