The message comes on a Thursday morning.
I know because Theron's phone is on the kitchen counter when it buzzes — he left it there when he went to refill his coffee, which he does every morning, the same way, same cup, same small domestic routine that I've absorbed into my own without noticing — and I'm close enough to see the screen light up.
